Payne McGinn and Cummins Inc. delivered a lowboy trailer requiring extensive repairs. The trailer had been damaged by a fallen tree, causing three cracks on the top frame and four on the side. A previous attempt at repair had been unsuccessful, as the frame was not properly realigned and the cracks were merely welded over. We initiated the repair process by arc gouging the existing welds and creating a V-groove for full pe*******on. After thorough preparation, we successfully pulled the frame back into position and applied a TIG root and 7018 stick fill/cap. The repair was then ground smooth to achieve a seamless finish. To provide additional reinforcement, diamond plating was installed on both sides of the trailer's top plate. We also addressed the damaged ramps, repairing one and fabricating a new one to replace the missing unit. Finally, we replaced the landing gear, which had been improperly repaired, causing misalignment. We removed the old component, took precise measurements, and manufactured a new one.

Capitol construction dropped a bucket by needing a full rebuild because the bottom was thin and cracking in multiple areas. To address this issue, we removed the bottom and replaced it with a new 1/4 hardox 450 bottom, as well as a new cutting edge provided by Capitol. Following the welding of both components, we installed the new 1/2 hardox 450 wear bars, positioning them 2 inches apart to allow for dirt to pack in and reduce wear. The final step entailed reattaching the factory cat teeth, which involved drilling 14 holes through the hardened steel. After completing the drilling, we flipped the bucket over and drilled counterbore holes on the bottom for the cat-style bolts. A quick coat of paint completed the repair, and the bucket is now operational.

We were contacted by a customer requiring custom handrails for his home. An on-site visit was conducted to obtain precise measurements, and the fabrication process commenced thereafter. The customer specified 2in pipe for the main structure and 1in pipe for the pickets. To achieve a high-quality finish, we employed TIG welding, minimizing post-weld cleanup. Upon completing fabrication, we outsourced the application of a flat black powder coat finish to Andersons. The handrails were then installed on the porch, yielding a superior result. Despite the project's extended timeline due to emergency jobs, we valued the customer's patience and understanding throughout the process.

Clp grading contacted us regarding some repairs needed on a skid steer bucket. Initially, they requested wear bars installation. However, upon cleaning the bucket's bottom, we discovered it was completely worn out. We then contacted them to discuss the best course of action. The options were to replace the bottom, add wear bars, and install a new cutting edge, or purchase a new bucket. After weighing the options, they decided to proceed with the repairs. We installed a new AR400 bottom, AR400 wear bars, and a new CAT cutting edge. The results were excellent, and the hardened materials will provide a longer lifespan than the original factory equipment.

Ravan Grading and Trucking required modifications to a sheep's foot packer, necessitating its conversion from a pull-behind to a skid-steer attachment. The packer weighed approximately 4,000 pounds when empty, making it essential to utilize heavy-duty materials. The project commenced with a 3/8-inch quick attach plate and 3x5 1/2-inch thick angle. To provide additional reinforcement, 1/2-inch thick gussets were added across the structure. All welding was executed using 7018 stick rods.

Two projects knocked out for Cbh construction. First project was on their tri axle dump truck. Most of the bed runners on both sides were cracked. So we started by cleaning everything and removing the previous repair made by somebody else. We where able to weld up the some the cracks but most had to be plated back to get to good metal. Second project was a mini x bucket. It had cracked apart in the front peeling the tooth bar off. We could have welded the crack up, but it would just be back later for another repair. It had worn the bottom of the side edge completely off and other parts super thin. We try to do things the right way not just a quick fix. So we removed the whole side wear bar and replaced it with new 1/2 ar400 plate. It’ll be good for a long time now.

Capitol construction dropped 5 skid steer buckets by this morning needing new smooth edges installed for the upcoming snow tomorrow. They opted for a bolt on edge for quickness so they’d have them in time. For now we just bolted them to the old wore out edges. When the storm is over we will cut everything out and install some new 3/4 material for a new anchoring point for the cutting edges. But for now they will be ready for the storm and be able to keep parking lots cleaned. Several hours later running the mag drill they are ready to go. While they had a trailer here we went ahead and threw a tooth bucket on there that we did a full rebuild on. New ar400 bottom, 9 ar400 wear bars, cutting edge, all new teeth lugs, and caps

Cbh construction dropped a dump trailer by needing some work. The sides were all bent up and the back was completely destroyed. So we cut the whole back off and 3/4 of each side. We then made new sides, top rail, two new doors, hinge system, and latches. Since most of the sides were new and back it only made since to paint the whole trailer instead of parts. Turned out looking like a new trailer again.

Capitol construction reached out needing some help with standing up a 60x 80 building. We first started in the shop welding up the 16 brackets they supplied. The next step was to go out and weld the brackets to the main I beams. Once the brackets were welded, they could install the main beams on top of the 8x8 post. The next step of the project is was to install all the bar joist on top. It started at 14ft in the back gradually climbed to 18ft to the front. So they rented 3 lifts and I brought 1 from the shop to safely get everything done. We coordinated with another welding company to get this job done quickly, didnt catch the name of the company. They led the way and we followed. 4 guys and 4 welding machines we got all the bar joist lifted/welded in position in a day. The next day we came back and installed all the angle iron to tie everything together. It was a group effort getting it done. A big shout out to Tyler Scruggs for letting us use his extra engine drive machine and thank you to Brandon Leffler for being the helping handing getting this project done.

Another great year for work has come to an end. Thank you to all the individuals and companies that choose us for their welding needs! Looking forward to what 2026 has in store. Happy new years!

Cbh construction reached out to needing an attachment plate made for a 300 excavator so they could bolt a rock grinder wheel to it. They sent us the blueprint for the baseplate that would match the grinder. We went out to pelzer and pulled the measurements off the excavator quick attachment plate. Once we had all the measurements, we got to work. Everything is made out 1-1/4 plate and the bushings are 3-1/8 thick. Andersons burned all the plate for us and a local machine shop made the bushings. Big thanks to both for knocking it out quickly. Once we had the material we tacked everything up and gave it a test fit on the excavator. We wanted to make sure everything fit properly before putting a 1in fillet weld all the way around. It fit perfectly so we began welding everything out with dual shield 71t1 flux core. 40lbs of wire later it’s ready for paint. The last step was to deliver it to the customer and get it bolted on to the rock grinder. Turned out great and more importantly it works like it should. Just to give perspective to the thickness and how heavy duty we build stuff, this little attachment weighed over 700lbs.
