Robert Madrigal of Madras Plant 3-1/2 took second place, and Eduardo Lopez of Madras Plant 8 rounded out the top three.

Redmond Team Wins Bright Wood Co****le Tournament

The co****le tournament has become a favorite part of the company picnic, bringing teams from across Bright Wood together for friendly competition and giving employees and their families plenty to cheer about.

When the final bags were tossed, Matthew Bigness and Jeff Penter, both from Redmond’s Saw-Sand Plant, came out on top. Each winner received a custom-made co****le set, complete with boards, corn bags, and a score tower.

Jeremiah Sprague of Madras Plant 7 and his partner, David Hect, earned second place, matching their 2024 finish. The team took home Bose and Beats headphones as prizes.

Rounding out the top three, Ervey Dominguez from Human Resources teamed up with his son, Grayson Dominguez, to place third and win a set of co****le boards.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and thank you to everyone who joined in the fun. The banter for next year has already started — and we can’t wait to see the 2027 board design!

Bright Wood’s company picnic was one to remember!

More than 700 employees and family members joined us Saturday, July 11, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Madras for the company picnic. It was a joy to see coworkers relaxing, families spending time together, kids delighting in the games and activities, and everyone sharing good food, music, and conversation.

From pupusas, tacos, barbecue, and frybread to the salsa contest, photo booth, co****le tournament, raffle, balloon animals, face painting, and live music from Soul’d Out, the day featured a wide variety of food, activities, and entertainment.

More than anything, the picnic highlighted what makes Bright Wood special: great people and a strong sense of community.

Thank you to our employees and families for spending the day with us. We appreciate you and are grateful for all you do.

The Bright Wood Wave was a hit!

A big thank-you to the Bright Wood employees and family members who spent their Fourth of July decorating the company parade float, riding in both the Madras and Gateway parades, and spreading Independence Day cheer along the way.

Organizer Mary Rueter shared that the “Bright Wood Wave” was a big hit with parade watchers, and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves.

The fun is just getting started! Bright Wood will also be hosting booths this summer at the Jefferson, Deschutes, and Crook County fairs, as well as the Culver Crawdad Festival.
