Last week marked the ribbon cutting for the Integrated Science Center 4 (ISC-4), a major addition supporting the School of Computing, Data Sciences, and Physics at William & Mary.

2RW provided MEP/FP engineering for this highly technical facility, designing systems to support advanced research, high performance computing, and flexible teaching environments. The approach focused on performance, reliability, and adaptability to support evolving program needs over time.

Neal’s decade with the firm reflects not only his extensive engineering expertise but also the strong relationships he has built and the many project teams he has guided with clarity and calmness. Whether navigating a fast-paced schedule, addressing field challenges, or collaborating on details with clients, Neal is known for being prepared, present, and attuned to what people need to move forward.

Neal has also earned the unofficial title of our “UVA guru.” He deciphers years of project history and expectations, quietly helping us stay a step ahead.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year defined by momentum, collaboration, and growth. From opening our new Richmond office to welcoming new team members and delivering sustainable, energy-efficient designs across Virginia, 2RW’s 40th year has been one of purpose and progress.

Carrier Library is moving steadily toward its next milestone. With interior systems running and temperature conditioning underway, the building is almost ready for turnover to the owner at the end of this year, allowing early access to begin installing finishes, placing furniture and equipment, and staging collections. This phase marks a major step toward the library’s opening in fall 2026, when the transformed building will welcome students, faculty, and the community back into a vibrant research and learning environment.

We’re excited to celebrate the topping-out milestone for Albemarle County Public Schools’ new ACE Academy, a 60,000 SF state-of-the-art facility that will provide hands-on, career-focused learning for high school students across Albemarle County. Designed to support programs in engineering, robotics, health sciences, culinary arts, and more, the academy represents a major investment in innovative and sustainable education.

2RW provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for this forward-thinking project, creating energy-efficient systems that support flexible studios, collaboration spaces, and future expansion.
