At the Harris Plant in Greenwood, SC, that legacy is still in motion. Six Muratec VORTEX 870EX spinning machines and eight QPRO winders are helping drive meaningful gains in yarn quality and efficiency, spinning and winding yarn that ultimately becomes military gear and workwear.

Team Muratec kicked off the week with a visit from Daisuke Murata, president and CEO of our parent company, Murata Machinery Ltd.

Typically, his visits to Murata Machinery USA’s Charlotte, NC, headquarters are packed with leadership meetings.

However, on Monday, Mr. Murata made time to connect with employees, touring the building, asking about machines and projects, and sitting down at lunch with different teams to listen and engage.

It’s these moments, when global leadership and local teams come together, that truly define who we are.

We’re grateful to Mr. Murata for his time, his presence, and his genuine interest in our people.

“El Vortex es el futuro.”

Translation: “The VORTEX is the future.”

That’s what Muratec USA Field Service Technician Luis Aguilar told FilSpec machine operators during training on the Vortex 870, our high-performance air-jet spinning machine.

Luis led a week-long training session at the Kings Mountain, NC, plant, where FilSpec produces technical yarns for protective, military, and industrial fabrics.

The training was part of the North Carolina Community College System’s NCEdge Customized Training Program, coordinated locally by Cleveland Community College—designed to help companies upskill teams, boost productivity, and stay competitive.

Muratec USA is proud to partner in programs like NCEdge to build skills, strengthen teams, and power the future of manufacturing.
