ANNOUNCEMENT:
Delta Mike Lightworks & Ted’s Precision Gunworks are parting ways.
As of today, Ted & I will no longer be accepting new serialized work for cerakote, machining, or projects involving Ted’s Precision Gunworks labor.
It is with a heavy heart that I must part ways with Ted. He has deciding to take his business in a different direction, focusing on precision rifle builds and moving away from HK conversions, optics cuts, porting and work that involves my business. Ted has a new baby on the way, and while I congratulate him on his family’s growth, our professional relationship has come to an end.
To answer your first question, all work in the shop or physically on its way to us at the time of this announcement will be completed to the best possible standard. Once that work is complete I will be leaving his shop space and looking for a new opportunity with a competent gunsmith/FFL to continue doing the type of work I’m known for and to continue growing as a business.
This came as a shock & surprise to me. I was met with a conversation last week that this was Ted’s decision, effective immediately. I had no say in the matter. As Ted owns the space and the FFL I was operating under, I am effectively cut out of my own job. While I respect Ted’s skill and appreciate his support over the past year of working with him, the resolution of our business’s relationship has been unprofessional and I’m deeply saddened & hurt by his decision.
I look forward to whatever new opportunities this may afford me. If your shop or FFL would be a good fit for my type of work and my customers’ projects, please reach out to me. I’m beginning the search for a new home for DMLW. For now, I am still accepting unserialized, non-FFL required work such as upper engraving, patches, knife engraving, and all sorts of other small projects that I can do without a FFL and don’t involve cerakote or machine work. Keep me in mind for this sort of thing, as I will do my best to keep DMLW alive as I transition to the next location, wherever that may be and whomever it may be with.
Your support over the last year has meant the world to me. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
