Last week, City staff and project partners conducted a site visit at the future Madison Street Park in Downtown Whiteville to review the progress of construction and ensure everything continues moving forward as planned. 🏗️🌳

Representatives from WithersRavenel joined City Councilman Jimmy Clarida, Mayor Terry Mann, Finance Director Colburn Brown, Economic Development Director Madison Ward, Planning Director Robert Lewis, Parks and Recreation Director Blake Spivey, Jonathan Cox, Michael Stoneman, and Jeffrey Sumner with APEX Construction to walk the entire perimeter of the property and evaluate the current stage of the project. 👷‍♂️

We are pleased to report that the park is coming along wonderfully. Engineers confirmed that construction is progressing according to the approved plans and that all work completed thus far meets required codes and engineering standards.

At this time, the project remains on schedule, with Phase 1 anticipated for completion by August, assuming construction continues to progress as planned. 📅

Madison Street Park will be an exciting new addition to Downtown Whiteville, creating a space for residents and visitors to gather, relax, and enjoy our community. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues to take shape and appreciate the community’s interest and engagement as we work to bring this vision to life.
