For years, people have been telling me I should write a book about our travels. This is not that book. Books involve chapters, deadlines and, from what I understand, editing. This is Facebook, it feels simpler. These pictures pretty much sums up the beginning. The boat was up in the air, and so were our plans. D likes to sail. I like to travel, tell stories and take entirely too many pictures. So naturally, we bought a catamaran, pointed her toward the Bahamas and decided working from a boat sounded perfectly reasonable. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, as it turns out. But a lot went right too. Over the next while, I’m going to share the real posts, pictures and videos from our travels. There were beautiful anchorages, long days, boat projects, weather, clever ideas and questionable ideas that somehow worked anyway. And yes, there was a $5 Paw Patrol tent that became marine equipment. More on that later. Welcome aboard Indie. If this eventually becomes the book everyone keeps asking for, at least some of the typing is already done. Although AI helped me, this is our real story from my real journal.
