October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, and we're highlighting our work on the Pleasant Street Streetscape project in Hinton, West Virginia. 🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️

In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Transportation and the City of Hinton, this project focused on improving pedestrian safety and enhancing community spaces.

ELR's work included replacing uneven walkways with new sidewalks, installing curbs to improve drainage and help protect pedestrians from traffic, and adding trees, lampposts, and benches for the community to enjoy.

This project shows how thoughtful planning and infrastructure can create safer, more connected communities.

Dr. Nusairat will present a slope stabilization case study and the value of instrumentation and monitoring during and post construction.

💬 ELR Geotechnical Engineer Louis Schulte will be presenting:
Tuesday, October 20 at 1:30 | HAM-74-18.01 Landslide Repair: Lessons Learned in Design Build

Mr. Schulte will share how the repairs to this highway were designed and constructed in less than a year, along with the lessons learned throughout the process.

Yesterday, Lauren Hedges, P.E. and Michael Lutes, P.E. of ELR's Cleveland office participated in the 2026 WTS (Women's Transportation Seminar) Northeast Ohio Amy White Memorial Golf Outing. The golf outing benefits transportation scholarship and mentorship programs.

Looks like a nice fall day on the links, and Mike even won longest drive on one of the holes! ⛳ 🎉
