Yesterday marked the ribbon-cutting of Corridor H Sections H1 and H2, opening a new 11-mile segment that directly connects Kerens and Parsons, West Virginia.
ELR, in partnership with Decota Consulting Company, Inc., proudly supported Kokosing Construction Company on this Design-Build project, providing comprehensive engineering services with a particular focus on bridge, geotechnical, roadway, hydraulic, construction inspection services and environmental compliance.
Project highlights included:
- Design of 12 bridges and an underpass
- Geotechnical engineering and foundation design
- 11 miles of Roadway design including interchanges
- Hydrology and hydraulic analysis
- Construction inspection services
- Construction engineering services
Constructing a modern highway through the rugged terrain of the Monongahela National Forest required innovative engineering and environmental stewardship. The corridor traverses environmentally sensitive areas, challenging geologic conditions and numerous stream valleys.
ELR is honored to have played a role in delivering this important transportation improvement and congratulate all project partners whose dedication and teamwork made this achievement possible. We would also like to recognize the leadership and long-term vision of the West Virginia Division of Highways, whose commitment to advancing Corridor H has helped bring this transformative project to fruition.
As Corridor H continues to take shape, these investments will improve safety, mobility, and economic opportunities across West Virginia while preserving the natural beauty of the Appalachian region.
