💚 Friendly Faces Friday 💚 - WELCOME TO THE BOLAND’S FAMILY, HOWARD! 🔨🪵

If you’ve been through our lumber yard lately, you may have noticed a new friendly face. We’re excited to officially introduce Howard Rosoff, one of the newest additions to our lumber crew!

Howard and his family made the move from Florida to South Carolina this year, and not long after, he found his way to Boland’s. Before joining us, Howard worked as a construction roofing project manager in restoration, so he brings plenty of construction experience with him, and he’s already making an amazing addition to our crew.

But there’s more to Howard than lumber and construction!
🗽 He’s originally from the Bronx, New York.
🎣 His favorite hobby is fishing, especially when he gets to use the custom fishing rods made by his father-in-law.
🎸 And if Howard gets control of the radio, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll hear some classic rock!

We’re thankful Howard and his family made South Carolina home, and even more thankful that his move brought him to Boland’s. ❤️

🎉 Happy Birthday, Dale! 🎉

Today we get to celebrate someone who truly represents the kind of service we want people to experience at Boland’s. ❤️

If you’ve had Dale help you before, you already know, he’s a go-getter. He’s hardworking, friendly, and always willing to jump in wherever he’s needed.

But one of the things we appreciate most about Dale is the way he takes care of our customers. When you ask him for help, he’s going to do his very best to figure out what you need. And if he doesn’t know the answer? He won’t just point you in another direction and send you on your way. He’ll find someone who does know and make sure you’re taken care of. That’s just Dale. ❤️

He wants you to leave Boland’s with what you came for, the help you needed, and hopefully a smile on your face.

We’re incredibly thankful for the hard work, positive attitude, and genuine care Dale brings to our Boland’s family. Today, we hope we can make him feel just as appreciated as he makes the people around him feel.

🌼 Tackle-It Thursday 🌼 KEEP THOSE MUMS HAPPY!

You picked out the perfect mums… now how do you keep them looking beautiful through the fall? 🍂

A little care can go a long way!
🌼 Give them plenty of sun. Mums generally do best with several hours of sunlight each day.
💧 Check the soil often. Those big, full plants can dry out faster than you might expect. If the soil feels dry, it’s time for a drink.
🚿 Water at the soil, not over the flowers. Give the roots a good soaking while trying to keep the blooms dry.
✂️ Remove spent blooms. Pinching off faded flowers helps keep your mum looking neat and encourages you to enjoy the remaining buds and blooms.
❄️ Watch those chilly nights. If frost is in the forecast, move potted mums somewhere protected when possible.

And remember those different stages of bloom we talked about Tuesday? Choosing a mum with lots of unopened buds can give you color to look forward to as the season continues. 🌼🍂

A little water, a little sunshine, and a little TLC can help you enjoy those beautiful fall mums even longer!

💚 Mission Monday 💚 - WE’RE MORE THAN HARDWARE.
Because People Matter.

There are a lot of things it takes to keep a hardware store running. Products have to be ordered. Shelves have to be stocked. Trucks have to be unloaded. Keys have to be cut. Deliveries have to be made. Questions have to be answered. And somewhere along the way, somebody has to figure out where that one little part is.

But none of those things happen without people.

This weekend, we celebrated Tom and Curley and nine years of being part of our lumber operation. Over the past few months, we've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, new faces, familiar faces, and even caught a few of our crew hard at work.

And it reminds us of something important:
Boland's isn't a building. It isn't the products on our shelves. And it isn't the name on our sign. It's the people inside it. ❤️

It's the employees who show up each day.
It's the customers who continue to choose local.
It's the families we've gotten to know over the years.
It's the community that has allowed us to be here since 1982.

Hardware may be what we sell, but people are why we're here. And after more than four decades, that's still at the heart of what we do.

✝️ Scripture Sunday ✝️

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.” — Deuteronomy 6:6–7

Yesterday we had a little fun remembering the “rules” we grew up with. ❤️

Some made us laugh. Some we probably didn't appreciate until we were older. And some of us have caught ourselves saying the exact same things to our own children and grandchildren. 😂

But beyond the rules about shutting doors, being home before dark, or cleaning your plate, there are things passed from one generation to the next that matter so much more.

Faith. Kindness. Honesty. Hard work. Loving your neighbor. Serving others. Trusting God.

Our children and grandchildren learn those things not only from what we tell them, but from what they see us live every day.

We may never know just how much the little moments matter, a prayer before dinner, going to church together, helping a neighbor, showing grace when it's difficult, or reminding them that God is with them.

Those are the things worth passing down. ❤️

🙏 Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the people who helped plant seeds of faith in our lives. Give us wisdom as we teach and encourage the generations coming behind us. Help our words and our actions point them toward You, and may the faith we live today continue long after us.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

🪵 Celebrating 9 Years! 🔨

October 10, we get to celebrate TWO very special work anniversaries at Boland’s!

When we started our lumber operation in 2017, Tom Sherrod and Curley Williams were there, and they’ve been a part of it ever since. ❤️ For 9 years, these two have helped make our lumber yard what it is today.

🔨 Tom, our Lumber Yard Manager, keeps things moving, helps customers figure out what they need, and brings years of knowledge and experience to the job every day.

🚚 Curley, our Delivery Specialist, helps make sure those materials get where they need to go and has become a familiar face to so many of our customers along the way.

Nine years means a whole lot of lumber, a whole lot of deliveries, and probably more stories than we could ever fit into one Facebook post. But more than anything, it means nine years of hard work, dependability, and being A Part Of Our Family.

Tom and Curley, we are incredibly thankful for everything you have given to Boland’s since October 10, 2017. Our lumber yard simply wouldn’t be the same without you both.

Please help us wish Tom & Curley a very Happy 9-Year Work Anniversary! 🎉🪵

❤️ Small Town Saturday ❤️ - WHAT WAS THE RULE AT YOUR HOUSE?

Every family had at least one. 😂 Maybe it was…

“Be home when the streetlights come on.”
“Don’t make me come in there.”
“You eat what’s on your plate.”
“Call me when you get there.”
“Close the door—we’re not heating the whole neighborhood!”
Or the classic… “Because I said so!” 😂

Some of those rules drove us crazy growing up, and then one day we caught ourselves saying the EXACT same thing to our own kids. 🤦‍♀️

So for this Small Town Saturday, we want to know:

❤️ Friendly Faces Friday ❤️ - A NAME YOU KNOW. A FAMILY BEHIND IT.

When you see the name Boland’s on the sign, it’s easy to think of it simply as the name of a hardware store. But around here, that name represents a whole lot more. ❤️

It represents a family business that has been serving our community since 1982.

It represents generations of family, employees who have become like family, customers we've watched grow up, and new faces we're still getting to know. And while a lot has changed over the years, one thing hasn't:

We want Boland's to be the kind of place where you can walk through the door and feel like somebody knows you, somebody will help you, and somebody is glad you stopped by.

That's why our slogan has always meant so much to us:

Because Boland's may be the name on the sign, but it's all of YOU who make up the family.
