The school year may wrap up soon for students across the region, but the learning never stops for the team at the University of Maryland’s Clarksville Facility.

They were in the fields with their New Holland FR 550 Forage Cruiser when we visited a few weeks ago, chopping triticale used to feed the University’s dairy cattle research herd.

At 925 acres, the Howard County location is the largest in the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station network, where they investigate forage production and forage related insect pest management, alfalfa and corn variety trials, small grains and soybean varietal improvement, dairy cattle nutrition and more.

Our Stoystown crew was happy to hop on board as a sponsor of the recent Agriculture Career Day, hosted by our friends and customers at Pennwood Farms in Berlin, PA. 🚜

The annual event organized by the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce welcomed more than 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ 8th-grade students from across the county for a full day of hands-on learning and career exploration. From farming and veterinary science to drones and finance, students explored a wide variety of agricultural career paths available in the region.

🌾 Congratulations to the Chamber, volunteers, industry presenters and educators on a successful AG day! We’re grateful to have partners in the community that recognize the importance of agriculture and are dedicated to the continued development of the workforce needed to support the industry.

👏 Congratulations to our dedicated parts team, who was recently recognized for their hard work and growth in 2025 by CNH Reman North America with a trip to Branson, MO. The 1️⃣2️⃣ top-performing dealers in North America were celebrated at their annual Cast 'N' Blast event with fishing, clay shooting and a CNH Reman facility tour.

🎣 Jason 'Yankee' Mellott and Matt Porter were on hand for the festivities and brought home some top honors for their skills on the water and the range. Way to go guys!

🌾 IN THE FIELD - Last week, we hit the road to Clarksville, MD, where the University of Maryland’s College of Agriculture & Natural Resources kicked off spring silage season in the seat of a New Holland FR550 set up with an UltraFeed pickup head.

Ryan McDonald, Mike Gray and the crew were chopping triticale there at the Central Maryland Research and Education Center, home of the University’s dairy herd. They’re responsible for 400 acres of field work at the facility in Howard County.

The chopper is just 1️⃣ of 3️⃣ that’s shipped off to school each year as a part of our University partnership program. 🎥 Check out footage from the visit!
