A little change of pace today. We have been running long days chopping wheat the past few days. We switched back to rye this afternoon and are using the direct cut head to chop this rye. It mows and chops in one pass. We are starting to see the end of spring chopping season. Thanks to all the guys staying late and working the hrs.

We are hiring. We are looking for a full time employee. Must be willing to work long hrs during harvest and willing to travel some. Most importantly must take pride in your work and the job that is to be done. We are family owned business that takes pride in providing custom forage harvesting services for our customers. Pay is based on skill level and experience. Must be able to pass a drug test, back ground checks are also done. No H2A employment at this time. CDL license is preferred. Busy day today at Silver Streak Ag Services LLC. Started out the day chopping alfalfa near Coleta. Then did another alfalfa chopping job and finished the day off mowing some really tall and thick rye. The rye was over 6 ft tall in places. Customer is going round bale the rye later next week after it dries.

Chopping rye this morning near Shannon IL. Have another hr or so here then move to Cedarville area and chop some 1st crop alfalfa.

Busy season in full swing. Day started with mowing rye and tedding rye that was mowed last night. The rake is going as well getting rye into windrows for chopping this afternoon.

Spring harvest in NW IL began today for us. We got an unexpected phone call that a couple hundred acres of rye needed to be mowed. Thankfully we had most of the equipment ready to go. We had some funny looking cows watching us for part of the day. Hope everyone has a safe spring forage season
