Moving millions of gallons of water uphill is a difficult challenge. Managing it safely on the way back down is another.

At the Hilltop Energy Center, we engineered, manufactured, delivered, and installed both sides of the cooling-water system: a high-capacity booster pump station to move massive volumes of water uphill and a custom below-grade PRV station to control pressure on the return.

Designed for a 30-year operational life cycle and up to 260 thermal cycles annually, the system was built to meet the long-term demands of continuous power generation.

Last week, alongside our partners at Engineered Solutions Midwest, Inc. and U.S. Controls inc., we had the opportunity to present to the Mayor of Lewistown, Illinois, and members of the city’s utility team.

We discussed our capabilities and spent time reviewing the city’s recently purchased EFI booster pump station and utility-wide SCADA system, including how the equipment and controls will work together to support day-to-day operation.

Here is a little behind-the-scenes look at the installation of our Rye Lake project from a few years ago.

This modular facility was delivered in multiple sections and assembled on site around the project’s advanced UV disinfection equipment.

The finished system supports reliable disinfection of the Rye Lake water supply while helping protect long-term water quality and public health.

Data centers have been at the center of major conversations lately, but one thing is clear: these projects are not slowing down.

That makes it our responsibility to engineer the supporting infrastructure more efficiently and reduce its environmental footprint wherever possible.

Our factory-built water systems are designed to make better use of materials, power, and water while minimizing on-site construction and disturbance. With piping, electrical systems, controls, and equipment installed and tested before delivery, some stations can be set and connected in a single day.
