🇺🇸 LABOR DAY WEEKEND HOURS 🇺🇸

Well… somehow we blinked and another Les Cheneaux summer is coming to an end. 😳

Seems like just yesterday we were stocking grass seed, potting soil and grilling supplies… and now somebody is going to walk in asking where the snow shovels are. 😂❄️

SATURDAY: OPEN 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
SUNDAY: CLOSED
LABOR DAY MONDAY: CLOSED

Yep — the Ritchie’s crew is getting TWO DAYS OFF.
Please don’t panic.
The nuts, bolts, screws and thingamajigs will all still be here Tuesday. 🔩😂

It’s been one heck of a summer, and we owe a huge THANK YOU to our year-round customers, summer residents, contractors, boaters, DIYers and everyone who came through our doors — including those of you who walked in holding a broken mystery part and said:

“I need another one of these.”

No box.
No part number.
No idea what it’s called.

Challenge accepted. 😂

Thank you for shopping local, supporting our crew, drinking our coffee, eating our popcorn and keeping us on our toes all summer long.

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY!

We were honestly blown away by the response to our recent post about bringing a FedEx drop-off FedEx option to Ritchie’s Hardware.

We received a ton of comments and support, and we have forwarded your responses directly to the FedEx team so they can see that there is a real need and interest in our community.

At this point, we haven’t received a response back from FedEx — but we’re going to keep trying.

We already offer UPS shipping and drop-off services here at Ritchie’s, and FedEx would be a great complement to that service. Our goal is pretty simple: give our community another convenient option right here in town and save people an unnecessary drive when possible.

Thank you again to everyone who commented, shared, and showed your support. You definitely helped us make our case.

Now the ball is in FedEx’s court. 📦

We recently reached out to FedEx about bringing a FedEx drop box/drop-off option to Ritchie’s Hardware.

Unfortunately, the answer was no.

But before we accept that answer, we’d like to hear from the people who actually live, work, own businesses, and spend time in our community.

This weekend has always meant a little more to me personally.

Wooden boats — and the Great Lakes Boat Building School — are what originally brought me to Cedarville. Funny how a love for old boats can lead you somewhere…and years later, that place becomes home.

So seeing Les Cheneaux Islands fill up with beautiful wooden boats and visitors every year is pretty special.

We’ve all seen some of the growing pains lately with new Amazon delivery drivers — packages in strange places, trouble finding addresses, missed deliveries, and drivers trying to navigate an area they may have never been to before.

And honestly, it’s probably not easy for them either.

But it does highlight one of the benefits of doing business locally.
