The best kind of precision is the kind you can repeat.

For the Field Lift Pro, our engineer Jack designed each piece with a slot-and-tab system so the parts fit together exactly where they belong. From there, each piece is laser cut with precision and engraved with a label so our welders know exactly what they are working with.

That means less measuring, less guessing, and a whole lot less “hold on, let me check that again.”

Our welders can grab the right parts, fit the tabs into the slots, and move straight into welding. It is a simple idea with a big impact: better consistency, faster fit-up, reduced rework, and less wasted material.

Precision is not just what happens at the end.

It is built into every step before the first weld is made.

Meet Ryan Malin. 👋

Some people see a problem and wait for instructions. Ryan starts looking for a solution.

Whether he's tackling a challenge in the shop, helping a teammate, or finding a way to keep things moving forward, Ryan is known for being resourceful, dependable, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right. He brings a positive attitude to work every day, along with the kind of consistency that teams can count on.

Ryan also competes in strongman competitions, where discipline, resilience, and mental toughness aren't optional—they're required. That same mindset shows up in how he approaches his work at Utah Steel. When things get difficult, he stays focused, works through the problem, and keeps pushing forward.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and, in his words, "picking up heavy things and putting them down." 💪

We're grateful for the energy, work ethic, and positive attitude Ryan brings to Utah Steel every day.

A good project recap is not just “look what we built.”

It is “look where the work ended up.”

These cabanas at Black Desert started with engineering, planning, fabrication, coordination, delivery, and install. Then they became part of the setting for the PPA Tour’s Greater Zion Cup, where athletes, guests, and fans gathered under the Southern Utah sun.

That is the quiet reward of steel fabrication. Most people may never think about the structure overhead.

Which usually means we did our job right.

Big vision is important, but growth only works when there is alignment behind it and follow-through in front of it.

As Chief of Staff, Brayden is stepping into a role focused on helping turn direction into ex*****on across Utah Steel and beyond. That means working closely with leadership, improving alignment across teams, and helping drive the accountability and momentum needed to keep the business moving forward.

For our customers and partners, leadership like that matters. Strong internal alignment leads to better communication, better ex*****on, and a team that can keep delivering the right way.
