Welders/Fitters Fabricators
Fabricators daily tasks will include layout, cutting, fit-up, and welding of structural and miscellaneous steel from approved shop drawings that correspond to internal procedures and job specific requirements.

Daily Tasks/Responsibilities
• Show up on time
• Review technical plans(blueprints) drawn by architects, engineers, and steel detailers
• Using basic computer skills for tracking and traceability of materials
• Verify traceability marks, match nestings, and notify when discrepancies are found
• Layout dimensions using tape measure and fit parts as per drawing or instruction
• Fabricate structural shapes per drawings or instruction by shop foreman
• Maintain and monitor individual parts to produce a high-quality product.
• Maintain tools and equipment
• Using machinery in a safe manner to, move, cut, clean, and organize steel parts
• Use oxy/fuel or plasma torch for cutting and coping material
• Comply with inhouse procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area

Skills/Abilities Needed to Preform Work
• Mandatory drug screening upon hire
• Adaptability and good communication
• Have welding knowledge and be able to certified in FCAW

(We are willing to train and provide an opportunity for practice after work hours)
• Read a tape measure down to a 1/16th of an inch is a plus
• Read and understand design and shop drawings aka blue prints is a plus
• Driver license and health card is a plus
• Willing to work overtime if needed to meet schedules

This may include but is not limited to painting, cutting, moving, cleaning, and prepping the steel. This position requires the operation of an all-terrain forklift and an overhead crane.

Daily Tasks/Responsibilities
● Great attendance and punctuality
● Stay Productive and on task
● Reaming holes & deburring parts
● Prepping and cleaning the steel with a wire brushes or grinders prior to painting with the steel
primer paint
● Keeping an accurate paint log prior to painting
● Cut steel material to appropriate lengths using a shop saw or sheer.
● Use a tablet to access the appropriate sheets and information needed to perform job-specific activities
● Confirm the steel accurately by verifying the size, heat number, and job number all match the sheet information before altering the steel.
● Check off and initial the work on the corresponding sheet to keep accurate logs of the work completed
● Measure Steel accurately within 1/16 of an inch with a standard tape measure
● Assist and help shop welders/fitters as needed
● Assist in cleaning and maintaining the shop as needed
● Painting and assisting in the fabrication of the steel if needed
● Cleaning and maintaining Painting equipment daily
● Recording and notifying the shop foreman of any painting supplies whose inventory is low
● Equipment inspections
● Preventing damage to property, buildings, and equipment
● Installation of handrails or misc steel when necessary
● Having a positive mental attitude within the workplace
● Cleaning and maintaining shop saws daily
● Operating an all-terrain Fork Lift and an overhead crane safely
● Help with loading and unloading trucks with inventory when necessary
● Help to maintain traceability on material and inventory by keeping accurate records
● Follow safety and operating procedures carefully
● May be required to work on the Jobsite and to operate decking tools in the future as needed
● Other duties may be required and will be assigned by the shop foreman.

Field Ironworkers / Steel Erectors
Steel erectors must follow appropriate safety guidelines to create, install, place, align, and reinforce steel structures and frameworks. Steel Erectors may be asked to work as a leader or part of a team to complete projects.

Daily Tasks/Responsibilities
●Great attendance and punctuality
●Stay productive and on task
●Prep tools and equipment needed at each job site and travel to the job site with tools needed to complete daily tasks
●Review technical plans (blueprints) drawn by architects, engineers, and steel detailers for specific projects
●Plan project assembly and work with management and the general superintendent
●Cut and shape steel as needed (nearly all steel will be prefabricated for the job sites at the shop)
●Operate hand and power tools: grinders, torches, welders, laser levels, and tape measures along with the required safety equipment Examples: Hard hats, High Visibility Vests, -Safety Glasses, Boots, Appropriate Clothing, Gloves, and Harnesses
●Installing and affixing steel girders, joists, tubes, and beams to the steel framework along with installing any architectural and miscellaneous steel.
●Using elevated work platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders to access the steel structures safely and efficiently
●Laying Metal decking and shooting pins to secure it to the steel structure
●Shooting studs and deformed bar anchors to steel components
●Lifting and guiding components into position with cranes and other job site equipment
●Lining up and leveling steelwork before bolting it in place
●Working on-site, often at height.
●Equipment Inspections

●Having a positive mental attitude at the job sites and shop

Field Ironworkers / Steel Erectors
Construction Steel, Inc is an established business that has been helping to build Southern Utah for over 32 years. We are a company that feels that each employee is important and that great things can be accomplished through teamwork. We fabricate and erect structural and miscellaneous steel for schools, retail, healthcare, banks, hotels, and residential structures. We have completed hundreds of projects in Utah and supplied fabricated steel for much of the Southwestern United States.
We are currently looking for Steel Erectors to perform labor-intensive, but highly gratifying work in the beautiful surroundings of Southern Utah. Steel erectors must follow appropriate safety guidelines to create, install, place, align, and reinforce steel structures and frameworks. Steel Erectors may be asked to work as a leader or part of a team to complete projects.
Daily Tasks/Responsibilities
-Great attendance and punctuality
-Stay Productive and on task
-Prep tools and equipment needed at each job site and travel to the job site with tools needed to complete daily tasks
-Review technical plans (blueprints) drawn by architects, engineers, and steel detailers for specific projects
