After finishing up the WD45 diesel repair last week, our service dept is working on a 190 gas tractor! It came in not running and the owner requested all repairs necessary to make it a reliable machine for winter use.
Once we got the tractor running, we made a list of suggestions we present to the customer, that the tractor needs, to achieve the customer's goals of a reliable tractor for winter use.
In order of importance we found: the brakes don't work, the PTO engagement lever seal leaks, the hyd valve leaks, a hose to the steering valve leaks, the temp gauge doesn't work, the tilt hoses on the loader leak, and the starter needs a rebuild.
After talking to the customer, he told us to proceed with as much as we could within his budget. Splitting the tractor allows us to access a few things at once. The PTO lever seal, the hyd valves, and easier access to the brakes. We will install new brakes with shaft seals, new seals and gaskets between the torque tube and transmission and inspect the power director clutch while it is split.
