A little solo new installation was the perfect way to pass the time on a boring rainy Memorial Day. In just one hour, I made the waterfront more functional, usable, and appealing to the customer. The customer will add their own decking to the ramp tomorrow.

Recently at Hernandes Docks and Home Services we opened our plow books for new customers. Over the past couple days I've met many new and wonderful full people, unfortunately some of these people shared with me absolute horror stories about their previous plow companies. That being said, I want to share a few tips to make it easier for you this winter.
1- 1st and foremost make sure that your plow guy is fully insured both vehicle and business. Advocate for yourself and request a copy of their COI. Do not accept any excuses. Thier negligence and fly by night quick buck attitude can hurt you more than help.
2- cheaper is not always better, often times cheaper means a job half done, or showing up at their leisure. Remember your paying for a service. Pay the extra for, experience, reliability, for reliable equipment, and communication.
3- Ask about their company. You can learn alot about someone. Chances are if your plow guy only has himself and one truck, but has 2 customers in Denmark, 5 in Windham, 3 in fryeburg, 1 in waterford 8 in Brownfield etc, you will be waiting on him as he would be spread out and spread thin.
Remember that there are lots of good reliable fully insured and LEGAL plow guys out there do yourselves a favor and do your homework before you just choose one because he is cheap.

Hernandes Docks and Home Services has decided to open up the plow books for new plow customers in Casco, Naples, South Casco and Raymond areas. We are fully insured and offer shoveling walk ways, shoveling to propane and oil tanks as well as snow removal from roofs and decks. Feel free to reach out with any snow removal needs.

So it's that time, Hernandes Docks and Home Services is now looking to hire 2 decent people for the dock removal season. It is hard work and fast paced. It can be fun at times. Pay is good. The requirements are not that hard, show up on time, worry about your job not everyone else's, don't whine and p**s and moan all the time. AND MOST OF ALL BE A TEAM PLAYER. A little before and after of a stair job we completed today. Started by removing the unsafe 25+ year old wooden stairs, then replacing them with aluminum stairs manufactured by Great Northern Docks in beautiful Naples, Maine. The new stairs created a safe way for the customers to access and enjoy their waterfront. Our team made this happen with a little hard work and alot of persistence.

It's not often I post because it takes time out of my work day, and I feel word of mouth is much better than any Facebook post. However as of lately some customers have requested for me to at least post once in awhile so I figured why not. This is a nice mix of new installs and reinstalls.
