Agri-Waste Technology, Inc.

Agri-Waste Technology, Inc. Professional Engineering & Soils Firm
Specializing In Environmental Consulting, Since 1984. This includes doing a "Perc" test, to evaluate the soil.

Though AWT works in many sectors of Environmental Engineering and Waste Management we use this page to highlight our Waste Management expertise. We work with hundreds of Realtors in Wake County & surrounding counties to do Well/Septic Inspections, also taking drinking water samples for Real Estate transactions. Additionally, we work with Developers/Builders/Landowners to design Septic Sys

tems for residential property. This allows us to see what type of Septic System can be used on the property, Obtain all county permits, Coordinate pre construction meetings, & ensure the project is implemented. The Septic System may be as simple as a Conventional Gravity System or more involved such as a Low Pressure Pipe, Spray/Irrigation System. We have extensive experience in all Systems & we make sure they're all done right. Just ask Jeff Vaughan, Kevin Davidson, Chris McGee, or Scott Jones & they will be glad to give you information/references, discuss current projects, or answer questions you may have.

Proud to see our team in action! 👷‍♂️🌱

We had the opportunity to assist with the College National Soil Judging Contest hosted by NC State. From prepping test pits to supporting the next generation of soil scientists, it’s always rewarding to be part of hands-on learning experiences like this.

Big shoutout to everyone who helped make it happen, your work behind the scenes makes a real impact! 👏

The biggest risk in a deal might be the ground beneath it; it's always worth a check.

In this episode of Behind the Building, we're joined by Dr. Jeff Vaughan, President and Senior Soil Scientist at Agri-Waste Technology, Inc.(AWT), who brings decades of hands-on experience in site development and wastewater system design to the conversation.

Get a deeper understanding of how modern soil evaluations go far beyond the old perc test, why soil conditions directly influence septic system type and cost, and how early soil work can create more certainty in timelines and pricing.

Learn the common issues uncovered during real estate transactions and why working with a soil scientist early can help landowners, developers, and brokers avoid costly surprises and make more informed decisions.

We truly appreciate Emilee Collins-Pickett Sprouse Commercial Real Estate for the opportunity to join Behind the Building and discuss a topic that doesn’t always get the spotlight it deserves, wastewater planning and soil science.

Emilee does a fantastic job bringing real conversations to the commercial real estate community, and we’re grateful to contribute insight on how proactive soil evaluation can protect timelines, budgets, and long-term project viability.

Thank you, Emilee, for creating space for meaningful discussions that help developers make smarter decisions before they break ground.

🎙️ NEW EPISODE: What’s Lurking Under Your Site?

Most people don’t think about wastewater until it’s a problem but in commercial real estate, that's a costly mistake. In our latest episode of Behind the Building, I sit down with Jeff Vaughan of Agri-Waste Technology, Inc., to reveal why soil is the true foundation of every deal.

Jeff breaks down how modern soil science can slash your permitting timeline from 16 weeks to just 4. Whether you're a developer maximizing density or a seller looking to boost property value, you need to hear why the "old perk test" is dead and how proactive reporting keeps your deal alive.

Before you break ground, do you actually know if your soil can handle the weight of your vision?

This Valentine’s Day, give a gift that starts with planning.

Call us for a free consultation and take the first step toward a pool this year.

Delaying feasibility and design can push projects into next year due to permitting and contractor schedule.
