Last Friday we enjoyed the spring sunshine and worked together as a team to mulch two trails at Wake County Government Crowder County Park! Having recently completed a Master Plan for this park, it was especially meaningful to volunteer at Crowder County Park and continue contributing to its care.

Our annual volunteer day is a chance to connect beyond the office, support our local parks, and stay grounded in the landscapes we’re passionate about shaping!

We are excited to join Wake County for this community meeting to share information on the Haleys Branch Trails!

The county will present first draft for about 400 acres of leased land it calls the Haleys Branch Trails near Lake Crabtree County Park.

Strong site design is essential to the success of a public safety building that serves fire, EMS, and police operations. For more than 15 years CLH has grown our public safety practice throughout the state of North Carolina, including many projects for Wake County Government that provide multiple services for the community. The Wake County Caddy Road Public Safety Station is a co-location of Garner Fire-Rescue, Town of Garner, NC Government Police, and Wake County EMS. We understand that thoughtful planning prioritizes clear and separated access for emergency response and the public, efficient circulation for apparatus and vehicles, shared yet secure operational zones, resilient infrastructure, and seamless integration with the surrounding community. By balancing functionality, safety, and context, we design sites that support first responders across disciplines while creating facilities that serve the public with clarity, durability, and purpose.

CLH is excited to welcome two new staff members to our expanding engineering team! Alisson Ramos, EI has joined CLH as a Senior Civil Designer. He brings over five years of civil design expertise, specializing in site grading, erosion control, and stormwater management. Since he has been with CLH, he has worked on projects such as the City of Fayetteville Fire Station 16 and Briarcliff Elementary School Renovations. Sherif Magdy has joined CLH as a Civil Designer. His experience includes developing site layout, grading, and erosion & sediment control plans, as well as stormwater management strategies and utility design. He has been working on a variety of projects since he has been with CLH, including the NC Zoo Carousel Building and Caldwell Academy Campus Improvements. Welcome to CLH Alisson and Sherif!

It was a perfect autumn day to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the North Carolina State Parks and Recreation new Moncure paddle access on the Deep River! Authorized in 2007, Deep River State Trail is one of 15 official North Carolina State Trails — a hybrid of paddle and land routes. Several speakers shared their excitement for the project and then enjoyed a paddle on the river. CLH served as lead designer for the new access point which offers a paddle launch for kayaks and canoes, a vault toilet, and parking. Additional facilities, including trails, will be part of future development. We are very proud of our work on this project that provides a new public access to this scenic and amazing river!
