Resource Concepts, Inc. is honored to have been selected by the Carson City Board of Supervisors and the Historic Resources Commission as a recipient of the 2026 Carson City Historic Preservation Award for the reconstruction of our historic office, the Lee House.

We are deeply humbled by this recognition and sincerely grateful to the firefighters, City staff, and members of the community whose support, care, and encouragement carried us through the fire and the rebuilding process that followed.

Historic preservation is ultimately about more than structures — it is about people, shared history, resilience, and the places that connect us. When people and place come together, that is community, and we are proud and grateful to be part of the Carson City community.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than the start of summer—it is a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and devotion of those who never made it home.
We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of their service, and we hold close the families, friends, and loved ones who carry their memory forward each day.
May we remember them with humility, gratitude, and respect.

Youth Backcountry Camps Open for 2026 Registration

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association has added two new sessions for open registration for its 2026 Youth Backcountry Camps, offering four-day wilderness backpacking experiences for youth ages 12–17 along the iconic Tahoe Rim Trail. These immersive camps are designed to build outdoor skills, leadership, and a deeper connection to nature through hands-on experiences in the backcountry.

Participants will learn essential skills such as Leave No Trace principles, outdoor cooking, navigation, and teamwork while hiking three to six miles per day and camping under the stars.

Multiple sessions are available throughout the summer, and sliding scale pricing with scholarships ensures accessibility for all families.

Big questions, curious minds, and a whole lot of fun! 🌎💧

Our team had a great time visiting Riverview Elementary’s 6th graders to explore the fundamentals of watersheds, sources of drinking water, and the role environmental understanding plays in our everyday lives. From where water comes from to how we protect it, these students brought energy, thoughtful questions, and excitement to every conversation.

Investing in environmental education today helps build informed stewards for tomorrow. Thank you, Riverview Elementary, for welcoming us into your classroom!

Todd Enke, our Survey Director, has been named the 2025 Surveyor of the Year by the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors—and we couldn’t be more proud.

With more than 40 years in the industry, Todd brings an incredible depth of knowledge, technical expertise, and hands-on experience to every project. But what truly sets him apart is his passion—for the work, for his team, and for the surveying profession as a whole.

Over the past nearly seven years at RCI, Todd has built and leads a strong, high-performing survey team, delivering exceptional results across a wide range of projects. Whether he’s mentoring staff, managing complex projects, or heading out into the field, Todd leads by example every step of the way.

His commitment extends beyond our firm as well. Todd has served on the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors State Board for the past 10 years, serving as President in 2024. He has returned to his local Lahontan Chapter roots continuing to give back to the profession he cares about so deeply.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Todd on our team and thrilled to see him recognized with this well-deserved honor.

It is with great pride that Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI) announces Jill Sutherland, PE as its newest Principal and Corporate Officer. Jill has worked as an Engineer and Environmental Specialist in Nevada and California since starting with RCI in 1991. For nearly 35 years, Jill has exemplified what RCI stands for in terms of setting the standard for excellence, integrity, and client success with innovative concepts and solutions. She has been a personal and professional mentor and inspiration to many at RCI, and will continue to inspire RCI into the future.
