🚨 Propane safety training continues across Iowa! 🚨

On May 12th and 13th, Todd Meyer teamed up with Darren, Steve, and George from River Valley Cooperative to provide hands-on flare training for Hazmat teams from Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island, East Moline, and the Rock Island Arsenal.

The training focused on helping more first responders become comfortable using the propane flare and response equipment provided through IPGA and IowaPERC. The kits, supplied by Ron Huffman of Responders Training, give mutual aid teams valuable tools and experience for handling propane emergencies safely and effectively.

We’re proud to continue supporting the departments and responders who help keep our communities safe every day. 👏🔥

We kicked off Phase 2 of the IPGA Hazmat Project this week, with GEC's Todd Meyer coordinating the project once again this year!

The training portion of the project started with the same Hazmat teams who first received the propane flare equipment.

Thank you to River Valley Cooperative for providing propane for the training—and to Darrin and George for taking the time to walk through their bobtail and explain the equipment. We also appreciate Ron Huffman with Propane Responders Training for leading the session. A big thank you to Davenport Fire for hosting us!

More trainings are coming in September in Ames, Marion, Grinnell, and western Iowa. Stay tuned for more information!
