Summary/Objective
The Class A driver will be responsible for making deliveries to customers and picking up coils at local mills and other steel related products at processors.
Essential Functions
1. Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
2. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
3. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
4. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
5. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
6. Collect and verify delivery instructions
7. Report defects, accidents or violations

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on job site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 40 hours per week, with overtime, based on your schedule for the week.
Required Education and Experience
1. Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
2. Pass pre-employment drug screen.
3. Proven work experience as a Class A CDL driver.
