Just finished up this lovely slab as a custom commission. This was the most filing I’ve ever had to do, removing 6 oz of mushroomed steel off the poll. Somehow the head held up under that much abuse. Possibility an Amoskeag but no way to be certain now.

This one got a 28” Hand Made Black Locust Handle, Ebonized and rubbed with Pine Tar and Raw Linseed Oil. Wedged with Cherry.

Another W.I.P. Collins Legitimus Connie on 26” Red Hickory. Hand Made from start to finish, of course. Typically I do steps in batches, so making blanks, roughing out patterns, carving handles and refinishing axe heads usually happen in handfuls.
