Raymond Young; President, Managing Partner, Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.
It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the death of our colleague and friend, Raymond Young. He passed on January 31, 2023 after battling cancer. Raymond was an extraordinary individual both professionally and personally.
His professional journey started by serving in the US Army from 1967 to 1968 during the Vietnam conflict. After serving his country, he began his long and illustrious career in sales for National Can in Baltimore, Maryland. During this time, he advanced himself by acquiring degrees of Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business Management from Loyola University of Maryland. He then transitioned to Tri-Can Corp in Alsip, Illinois which manufactured conveyors for the beverage industry, setting the course of his career. His next position would be a pivotal one, joining A&E Conveyor Systems in 1989 as president and managing partner of this industry-leading company. During his tenure at A&E, Raymond engineered and patented the Pur-Rinse Ionized Air Container Cleaning System which has become a standard in the beverage packaging industry. He was also a respected member in good standing with the International Society of Beverage Technologists.
Being just as passionate in his personal life, he married his lovely wife Judith Kallenborn in 1972, adding to their family two beautiful daughters Jennifer English and Bridget Young, four grandchildren Brandon Perry, Brittney Perry, Annalise Young, Nathan Young and great-granddaughter, Erin Perry. Raymond was well familiar with having a large family having grown up with brother Richard Young and sisters JoAnn Walega and Cheryl Couillard and, now deceased brothers, Dale Whittemore, Robert Young and Steven Young. When Raymond found himself with extra time, he was active with the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. His personal hobbies included reading, especially a good scifi fantasy or spy thriller and crafting model trains.
Raymond will be greatly missed by his business colleagues, family and friends.
