​Remember that huge milestone I shared? Well, I finally got around to cracking those boxes open, and I am BEYOND excited to introduce you to the newest—and arguably cutest—member of the Certified Safety First team! 😍📦

​This infant manikin is one of several tools we just received to provide hands-on, lifelike training to Stark County’s workforce. Seeing it in my new training space, next to our manuals and certifications, makes this whole journey feel so real.

​We are gearing up to offer on-site classes that are convenient for your staff and fully compliant with American Red Cross standards. Our goal is to make life-saving skills like CPR and AED use accessible to every business in the region.

​Let’s be real for a second—sometimes the small business hustle moves so fast that you don't even have time to post about it until two days later! 😅

​This past Wednesday, I had the privilege of attending the 'Fueling Business Growth' event hosted by the Stark County Minority Business Association. As a proud SCMBA member, getting in the room to talk about capital, resources, and local connections was exactly the mid-week energy boost I needed.

​I was so locked into having amazing conversations with fellow Stark County entrepreneurs that I completely forgot to pull out my phone to snap a picture!

Happy Monday, Stark County! ☕☀️

​I have a quick confession for my fellow small business owners: my brand new CPR training manikins finally arrived... and the boxes are still sitting here completely unopened! 😅

​The reality of building a business from the ground up is that sometimes life, family, and the daily grind take over, and your exciting milestones have to wait in the corner for a minute. And that is completely okay!

​My goal for this week is to finally crack these boxes open, get my equipment prepped, and gear up for the Stark County Safety Council meeting later this week!

Happy Thursday, Canton! I am officially on high alert today! 👀📦

​Remember that huge milestone I shared last weekend about finally grinding enough to order my very own CPR training manikins? Well, the tracking app says they are OUT FOR DELIVERY TODAY! 🎉

​I have basically been staring out the window waiting for the delivery truck since this morning. When you are bootstrapping a small business from the ground up, every single piece of equipment represents so much hard work, hustle, and belief in what you are building.

​Once they arrive and I get them all unpacked and cleaned up, I will do a full unboxing video so you can meet the newest 'team members' of Certified Safety First.

​I know it has been a little quiet on this page lately, but I have been putting in some serious work behind the scenes.

​When you are bootstrapping a small business from the ground up, you have to grind for every single step forward. Over the last few weeks, my biggest goal was saving up enough capital to finally purchase my own CPR training manikins.
​Well... I just clicked 'Order'! 🎉

​I have to give a massive shoutout to James Whitehead for making this happen. To be completely honest, the deal he offered me was so amazing that I genuinely thought he was a scammer at first! 😂 But he actually took the time to call me on the phone, walked me through everything, and was incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you so much for supporting a growing small business!

​Let’s dive into a realistic mid-summer workplace scenario that happens more often than you might think.

​The Scenario: You manage a local warehouse, manufacturing facility, or retail space. It’s a hot June afternoon, and your team is unloading a heavy delivery truck. Suddenly, one of your workers collapses on the loading dock. They aren't responding, and their breathing is abnormal.

​The Reality Check: Do the other workers on the dock know exactly what to do in those first 3 critical minutes before EMS arrives?

​1️⃣ Call 911 immediately.
2️⃣ Start CPR (Pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest).
3️⃣ Grab the AED (And actually know how to apply the pads).

Happy Tuesday, Stark County! ☀️⚡

​With summer temperatures officially setting in across Ohio, we need to talk about where your life-saving equipment is stored.

​Many of our local construction crews, security teams, and mobile businesses keep an AED in their work trucks. Having an AED on the go is incredible, but extreme summer heat is the silent killer of safety equipment.

​Here is why:

🔋 Dead Batteries: Prolonged exposure to high heat inside a hot vehicle can severely drain an AED’s battery life long before its expiration date.

🩹 Dried Out Pads: The electrode pads rely on a water-based gel to stick to a patient's chest and conduct electricity. Baking in a hot truck can cause that gel to dry out, making the pads completely useless in a medical emergency.

​Your Tuesday Tech Check: If you keep an AED in a vehicle or an outdoor lockbox, go check it today. Make sure it isn't in direct sunlight, and verify that the status indicator is still flashing green!
