Here’s some pictures of the stainless steel spray nozzles we recently machined. Customer dropped off a sample part and we reversed engineered to machine the new nozzles. What seemed like a tricky part to make with the angled holes and face contour, our HURCO TM10MYi made it to be a fairly easy part. The Y axis and live tooling came in handy for this part and it would’ve been difficult to machine without it.

This is something we have been wanting to do for a long time and one of the reasons for getting the new HURCO TM10MYi turning center. Drilling angles holes in parts like this was time consuming before but now it’s easier and allows time to be freed up to run another machine.
We visited IMTS 2024 to view the new 8” machine and knew that this type machine was something we needed to add to our HURCO lineup. We needed a 10” machine but it wasn’t in production yet. We decided to wait for it and took delivery in June. It’s been a great machine so far. Will add a video in another post.

Fresh off of the HURCO VM30i are two 11-7/8”W x 24-1/2”L plates. Both sides are face milled to a specific thickness and both got eight M30x3.5 holes. To thread the holes we turned to EMUGE for a treadmill and they recommended their Gigant-ic treadmill that has three inserts. So since we use their products for all tapping and drilling due to their quality we decided to try this tool. The threadmill exceeded our expectations and made short work of the holes. HURCO + EMUGE = success!

This was a busy summer and a new machine delivery made it more intense. This new turning center from HURCO has a C axis and Y axis. Compared to our other TM10i this new TM10MYi is leaps and bounds better. The live tooling and Y axis will allow us to do many milling operations while in the machine to eliminate going to a machining center to do the milling. The Y axis will allow us to work off center a little over 2” in either direction. The technology HURCO put into this new machine is top notch and we were fortunate enough to get one of the very first machines they made for this model.

These are some 304 stainless steel parts that we machined recently. Both parts started out as solid material. 304 stainless can be difficult at times but utilizing the latest carbide inserts from Walter these turned out great. We used Walter drills and and Emuge taps for the holes.

This pin was brought to us to polish and to machine a extra new pin and keeper plate. They wanted us to supply new bearings also. No drawing no problem. We reverse engineered and made some changes so the bearing will get greased better and last longer. We used 4.00” induction hardened bar stock for the pin and 1018CF steel for the keeper. We then welded both together in house.

Often times machinists aren’t given any recognition for the millions of parts that are manufactured everyday. Virtually anything you pick up today a machinist had some part in making that.
So for someone to take the time and make a video of a fully machined part from the basic raw material and show it in action is pretty awesome to me. Most people don’t give it a thought about the work that goes into taking a verbal conversation about a product and turning it into a functioning product to help people in their fitness goals. The countless hours of thought to make it just right and to be efficient at it plus the investments in tooling and fixturing.
I’m honored to be apart of this project for Bare Steel Equipment and I hope this product exceeds everyone’s expectations that orders one. You can say it’s very proudly made in the USA from raw material made in the USA.

Here’s some roller coaster parts we made per sample this week. The old ones were getting pretty worn and we machined these parts from some better material. Better material equals longer lasting parts but more importantly safety.
