Exton Automotive Machine Shop is an automotive machine shop that specializes in engine building from mild to wild, in Canadensis, PA.

Chuck Exton, owner and operator, has had this business open in the Poconos for over 20 years. He has established himself as the best engine builder in north east Pennsylvania. The shop has done everything to help the local community keep passenger, commercial, and out-board engines running. He also has been home to a professional drag racing car, as well as, working close with teams as an expert o

n cylinder heads. The shop is currently home to Chuck's personal nostalgia nitro funny car "Wild and Crazy". This car can be seen soon testing at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, NJ going 0-100 mph in a little over a second! When Chuck is not working in the shop, or on his own car, he is observing racing. Mr. Albert Meckes I tried to install your new cut crankshaft, in your Ford 428 stroker and something did not feel right the housing bore is dead nuts, on. so, I started to check the crank and look what I found all the main journals have a .0016 taper on them and that's from the crank grinder in New Jersey and that's from not keeping the grinding stone true now will send it back out and get it done right by Fritz Crank Grinding in Luzerne, PA. That's why you check every part before you install it in your engine. & that's why you are paying me the $$BIG BUCKS $$ to make sure it's done right. To all have a great Sunday. See less

Mr. Ralph Napoleon your Nissan RB26DETT block came out great it took .005 to clean up the block surface you had some water rot around cylinders # 1 & # 6 after that it went into the Honing machine so with the rough diamonds I took the bore down to about .0025 from .007 will finish it up with the fin diamond right at zero for a .0019 PTW clearance. after tomorrow the block is all done. will get back on your job when your crank gets back to me.

Mr. Ralph Napoleon I started on your Nissan RB26DETT block. I just taped the front main oil hole going to install the 1-solid plug back in the back of the block that is a tapper plug I know it will not leak. Next, I align honed the mains with your ARP stud kit like always it came out great next the block is in the boring machine and took a test pass on 1-of the bad cylinders and clean up great left about .007 to hone with your torque plate. Will have the block on the milling machine tomorrow and by late tomorrow will get it in the honing machine. See less

Funny car Friday, window cowling finally done now I can see out the window I was trying to make the show at Island Dragway but with the workload and front window not ready it will be about 2-more weeks before I can start to make some test runs. To all have a great weekend.

Mr. Al Meckes. I started on your Ford 408 stroker block I installed the 3-cylinder sleeves to get rid of the rot next up Will align hone the mains with ARP-Bolt kit to take any twist out when I press the new sleeves in then will square up the deck surface with the BHJ-Fixture to the centerline of the crank then call Ed at Ross racing pistons and order the new .040 over pistons and tell him the rod, stroke, & Compression you are using in this combo.

Mr. Ed Shanley, your Ford 427-Heads are all done heads were warped from the intake to the exhaust side of the heads most likely the shop that did it before the cutting head on their machine had a bit too much tilt and it will cause that f**k up dish pattern. you can see it when I took a .001 cut, they both were warp about .0025 but all came out great total off both heads .005 will call you tomorrow with your total and you can bring the short block down on Saturday if that works for you.

Mr. Rit Pustari, working on your AJPE-Hemi head all exhaust seats are @ 55 degrees all exhaust valve angles are 55 degrees and seat with on the valves is dead nuts on .090 so will recut all the valves and check all heights and mark all the valve for later use when you have to replace any at the track. Will also Straighten any used one and get them ready for later use. To all have a great Easter day.
