A project that came through the shop consisted of turning 15” diameter H13 rounds to a roughed state. Each round weighed 600lbs to start and nearly half the mass was machined off. The 8 parts then got sent to heat treat to a spec of 50 rc hardness. After heat treat the parts then went back into the machine and hard turned to size. +/-.001” on all features
