Los Angeles is known for its tourist attractions and vibrant history, but unfortunately, also for its traffic. To help alleviate the congestion particularly around Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), a transit hub was built to connect the airport with the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) regional rail and bus network.

Spanning this immense station is 80,000 square feet of GKD Omega 1520 PC. The metal fabric panels were installed to add an elegant architectural element and shield travelers from the bright California sun. ☀️

Bridges offer an opportunity for both functionality and landmark status. At the Griffiths Drive Bridge in Burnaby, Canada, stainless steel mesh protects pedestrians from falls and wind gusts while ensuring visual transparency.

In this design, a single arch featuring mesh panels stretches diagonally across the bridge and connects to the supporting structure. The result is both striking in its architecture form and integral for the community that enjoys walking across the bridge.

Begun in 2015, the Honolulu Skyline automated rail transit system project includes 18.9 miles of elevated guideway across 19 stations. The motivation for this monumental project was Honolulu's notoriously bad traffic; the result would be a cleaner, safer, and more efficient way to move around the island from East Kapolei to downtown Honolulu.

Stainless steel metal fabric was specified for the guardrail system because of its low-maintenance, durable qualities, as well as the ability to protect passengers without blocking the views.
