Dirty bike is dirty.

After riding through rain and hail, countless dirt roads, and damn near daily use, this ole girl needs a bath! It's almost embarrassingly dirty. Then I remember all the things this coat of crud came from and it makes me smile.

Then reality reminds me that all that dirt accelerates wear and maybe it'll finally light that fire under my ass to drag it into the wash bay and give it a good scrub.

I've been saying it for years but you have to ride it to get it dirty.

Get out and explore!

Half the fun of rides out here has been looking at the mountains and going "🤔 Where does that road go?" and then finding that road and where it goes. Most of the time, they unexpectedly go from paved to unpaved rather quickly and often unannounced. Turns out 22 year old Ultra Classics can get up hard pack dirt roads just fine.

This is an example of one such adventure. We had been up Gold Camp as far as the pavement went before and turned back at the advice of people coming down the trail. Turns out we just needed the advice of one our customers and we went full send on it. Nice hard pack, gorgeous views, two tunnels, and at the top, we were rewarded with a waterfall. My first in Colorado.

In the words of danielricciardo, "Sometimes you just gotta lick the stamp and send it!"

This is called riding on borrowed time.

Don't EVER ride your bike with a tire this bad. The only reason he put it on a trailer was because it started to wobble. This wasn't from burnouts either. I've never seen one this bad. I can't believe it was still holding air.

People, there are wear bars on your tires for a reason. If you don't know what those are or how to check your tread depth, park your bike until you learn. These aren't cars where there are three other tires holding you up if one blows out.

Be safe, not stupid.
