GoSkagit did a story about some local business that are sponsoring families through the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund. Very cool program that helps out local families that are just trying to have a nice family holiday. Check it out when you get a chance!

Every year we sponsor 20 families through the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund. We ask these families to send us Amazon lists for gifts for their children. Sadly, a lot of these families are also in need of the basic essentials to live on. So these lists will have laundry detergent, garbage bags, snacks, etc. To us, Christmas is about a kid getting to open up a wrapped present and to have that excitement of getting a new toy. So that's what we try and focus on getting for these families. But they still need a lot of the essentials.

If you want to help, you could contact me at [email protected] or call me at 360-757-7057, or even just drop some stuff off at the dealership in the BDC and I'll make sure that these families get whatever you're able to donate in addition to the toys and gifts we order for their kids. And if you're able to donate something, I'll put your name in for a drawing that I'll hold after Christmas for either a $50 Amazon gift card or $100 Parts and Service gift certificate at our store.

Just did our drawing for the $100 Amazon gift card giveaway from our announcement of Time magazines Dealer of the year. I used an excel sheet to generate a number for each person who liked the post, and if they shared the post they got an additional entry point. Everyone was assigned a number and I used a number generator to pick the winner.
