Please join us in congratulating James Wingate on his well-earned retirement!

James has been a part of the Basden story since day one—starting with us in 1985 when the company was founded. He later continued his career with our sister company, Deem Structural Services, beginning in 2013, and we’ve been fortunate to have his impact span across both organizations.

Throughout his career, James played an essential role not only in our projects but also in shaping our ESOP culture. His leadership, work ethic, and sense of humor made a lasting impression on our teams and the many people he worked alongside over the years. He was also part of several award-winning projects and contributed to work that will stand for generations, a true testament to the legacy he leaves behind in this industry.

One of the most unique highlights of his career was his involvement in the USAF Cadet Chapel restoration, a first-of-its-kind project for our team and one we’re incredibly proud of.

James, thank you for nearly 40 years of dedication, leadership, and impact. We are grateful for the legacy you leave behind at Basden & Deem and wish you all the best in this next chapter!

Topping out at Mansfield City Hall! 🎉👏

The new facility spans 68,000 square feet—that’s 28,000 square feet larger than the existing 40,000-SF building on East Broad Street. We’re proud to have played a role in bringing this project to life, delivering a modern space that will better serve this growing city.

Everyone meet Fabian👋

Fabian is our Grounds Manager and has been with Basden Steel for four years. If you’ve been to any of our Burleson locations, you’ve likely seen Fabian and his crew working hard to keep everything looking top-notch. Fabian shows up every day with a smile and is always willing to jump in and lend a hand wherever needed.

When asked about his favorite part of working at Basden, Fabian shared that he loves being an employee owner and the great people he works with. His favorite memory was the day he got hired, because he knew right away Basden would be a great fit for him and his family.

Our team had the opportunity to visit Burleson Centennial FFA at the Ag Mechanics competition today and check out the Spartan Welding team’s trailer project!

We were proud to sponsor these students in partnership with our local supplier, Intsel & Deem Structural Services , to help provide the materials for this build. These students dedicated 215 man-hours to building this trailer from scratch, and it was incredible to hear their process and see the final result.

We always love seeing young professionals take an interest in our industry. Join us in wishing them the best of luck in the competition!👏💥

This past month, the final beam was placed at the Collin College Health Sciences Center in Frisco, TX🙌

This three-story, 120,000-square-foot facility will feature hands-on simulation technology, labs, and imaging and allied health programs. We’re excited to see the impact this building will have on the community and proud to have played a role in bringing it to life!
