Mr. Lewis is a CTE Welding Instructor at BHS. "I believe that our ability to train and certify on-site without students ever needing to step foot in a technical college is an amazing aspect of my program. We are also versatile in the fact that we can fabricate so many objects in-house with BISD equipment. That gives us the edge!"

Career and Technical Education (CTE) plays a vital role at BHS and schools across Texas by preparing students for success beyond graduation through hands-on learning and skill development.

Congratulations to Tuesday Stiles on graduating from vernon college with her aas in welding science. I can't wait to see where her degree takes her. She got her start in our old shop and on the farm and now she's on her way to being a pro!

5th place finish for our young men! 1st in district, they killed again this year. We fell 2 spots short of state but its all good. We were stacked against 19 other area teams so id say they did great. Congrats to Early isd and mineral wells isd for their big wins this year. Go represent area 4 at state and take home a win.

Last week we had a spring certification testing day where all level 1 and 2 students had the opportunity to test their skills and try to get certified as AWS D9.1 sheet metal welders. I am very happy to announce that 10 students were able to meet the challenge and become certified welders! In picture order we have: Lane Gibson, Cayson Green, Colton Hutchings, Hagan Wineinger, Keaton Arnold, Griggs Crumpler, JT Massey, Jesse Everhart, Tristan Roberts, also not pictured is Serenity Lewis. Please help me in tagging each and every one of them and send them a congrats for all their focus and hard work! We will be certifying again in April just in time for graduation, so these numbers will shoot up.

Hey guys, I have a community service request for my students over spring break. A friend of mine needs some pipe fence work done over the break. It isnt a huge job, but it so she can get her horses back in the pasture securely. I need a few people that are willing to help for a few hours. The more welders we can get out there the quicker it will go. This is one of those help your neighbor moments that I personally wont turn down. So if you are able to help that's great, if not, I completely get it, it is your break after all. Message me and let me know if you're able and when. I'd truly appreciate any help at all. Thanks.
