21 years since we last saw 37 of our own members from the Port Authority Police Department, 23 NYPD officers, 343 FDNY firefighters, and over 2,500 people. The memory of every minute of that day lives on forever. The heroism that played out on that day and in the weeks to come will forever remind us of outstanding men and women who choose to serve. The sacrifices of so many on that day continue to have a ripple effect as more officers and firefighters have fallen to illnesses contracted from 9/11.

We know that the lessons of September 11th, of rallying to a cause and serving a higher purpose are still the core of who we are.Times have changed the landscape of lower Manhattan but the men and women who gave their lives in service to others live on in every man or woman who puts on the uniform today. We saw the highest calling on 9/11 and we will forever tell the stories of the men and women who we last saw 21 years ago.
