New hydraulic piston and shaft. Piston made on the Haas with a +0 -.0007 tolerance. Hit the mark at -.0005. Shaft threaded on both ends. Nice little job.

Had some big parts on the ole blue lathe today. Turned some bearing journals. 19” OD and roughly 2500lbs.

Been busy. Knocked this out today. Tight tolerance bore for a Swedge fit. 4.435 -0/ +.0005. Finished with a 7/8 internal key on the vertical shaper.

Temposonic Wand cylinder rebuild. 10” 5/8 hole through the center.

Big parts on the haas lathe this week.

New to me machine. Douglas slotter. This allows me to do loads of internal features such as splines and keyways. Video in the comments. Still have to make some tooling but will be ready soon!

Another new (to me) machine to the shop. Excited now to have both cnc mill and lathe capabilities. Huge thanks to my dad for helping make this happen. Beyond excited!

Been a busy week making some straight sided splines. The ole K&T chugging right along. Machine was made in 1957 and still holding .001” all day long.

Shaft with a worn bearing journal in for repair. Turned down, welded up then turned to size. .001 runout over 60”. (Video in comments)
