2. Job Summary

*The Mechanic performs mechanical maintenance on all plant equipment

3. Immediate Supervisor

*This position reports directly to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor

4. Performance Standards

*Complying with policies and procedures.
*Interacting with other employees, suppliers, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
*Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor

5. Responsibilities

*Works with mechanical repair personnel, operating personnel, and other maintenance personnel to analyze problems and to reduce operating downtime.
*Works closely with operating personnel in the solution of problems or in the improvement of operating equipment.
*Maintains adequate mechanical supplies, equipment, and tools.
*Troubleshoot screw compressors, cooling towers, and hydraulic and pneumatic pumps.
*Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills.
*Submits reports concerning the condition of equipment and need for repairs or replacement.
*Instructs mechanical repair personnel and other personnel on hazards and mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic safety procedures.
*Reports unsolved problems or changes in equipment or method of operation to the Maintenance Supervisor.
*Attends schools, classes, meetings or seminars recommended by or scheduled by management.
*Repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment throughout the plant.
*Performs preventative maintenance to all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment throughout the plant.
*Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
*Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly, and testing.
*Assists in size changes where required or requested by operating management.
*Understands and follows company rules and regulations concerning conduct.
*Accepts additional responsibility and assignments from management which may not be specifically listed in the job description for this position.
*Repair mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
*Maintain adequate mechanical supplies, equipment, and tools.

6. Qualifications

*High School Graduate (GED Accepted)
*Trade School or Industrial Apprenticeship in mechanical or hydraulic trades.
*At least three (3) years experience as an apprentice or trainee mechanical repairmen (mechanic), hydraulic repairman or mechanical repairman helper.
*Knowledge in repairing and maintaining diesel machinery required.

7. Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration.

Forklift Operator

2. Job Summary

The Forklift Operator operates a forklift tractor to transport and load pipe and other materials as required.

3. Immediate Supervisor

This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor

4. Standards

Providing exceptional customer service to all customers, suppliers, and employees.
Constantly representing Axis Pipe and Tube in a positive and professional manner regardless of customer requests, complaints, or demeanor.
Complying with policies and procedures.
Interacting with other employees, suppliers, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor.

5. Responsibilities

Operates forklift to move pipe and material
Observes speed limits in the plant.
Observes load limits of forklift being operated.
Maintains fluid, fuel and lubrication levels on equipment being operated.
Reports any mechanical, electrical or safety problems to Foreman and Maintenance.
Submits reports and documentation concerning loading to Foreman or Supervision.
Delivers documentation to truck drivers as required.
Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
Transports pipe from shipping to stocking.
Loads trucks with the pipe from shipping bay or stocking area.
Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

6. Qualifications

Must be able to read and understand the Standard Operating Procedure for the position held.
At least one (1) year as a heavy forklift operator (25K to 50K Ton)
Certification as Forklift Operator.
Must follow basic Safety Rules and Regulations.
Pass required physical
Previous experience moving pipe with large forklifts

7. Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
