Just earlier this week, we sent our field team out to the Sisters of the Incarnate Word for our quarterly look at our pump station on site. This time around, the team had to get a little more hands-on.
In addition to running the usual tests on the alarms, floats, and pumps, they noticed some leakage from the valves. No big problem, but that’s exactly what preventive maintenance is for: catching things like this before they become bigger issues. The team descended into the well to tighten up the valves.
Sometimes keeping a pump station in good shape means doing the dirty work. Fortunately, that’s what we’re here for!

A beautiful day for a pump station installation!

Pictured here is an 11' Diameter x 45' Deep HDPE wet well being lowered into place for O'Hare International Airport as part of the ORDNext Terminal Redevelopment Program. This sanitary pump station, engineered by Excel and HNTB, will ultimately help manage 2.45 MGD of wastewater from the new concourses, as well as the Midfield Cooling Plant. With Reyes Group handling the installation, this piece of the puzzle is almost ready to go.

From our Brook Park facility to one of the busiest airports around.
This video follows two of our HDPE wet wells being loaded, secured, and sent on their way to the O'Hare International Airport as part of the Satellite 1 project. Together, these two structures will be incorporated into a pump station designed to handle terminal runoff and collection from the midfield cooling plant. This pump station is part of the ORDNext Modernization program, an effort to transform O'Hare into a modern global hub.
For this project, we once again partnered with Milhouse on the engineering side, while Reyes Group will lead installation. Looking forward to the next steps of this powerhouse triplex pump station!
