How we started…

EST Tool & Machine, Inc, is family owned and established in 1994 by Eugene Taylor, out of a love for hot rods and the desire to do all of his own custom metal work. Taylor had a background in tool and die work and has had an appreciation for the trade for most of his life, which was passed along to both his children Tim and Steve. Beginning in Enon, Ohio out of a 1,500 square foot

facility, as just a father and his boys tinkering around with an old knee mill and a lathe, it wasn’t long before making metal chips in the big building behind Eugene’s house had become a full time job for all three of them. So the evolution of EST Tool & Machine, Inc. Due to being shot down after trying to get some land they had purchased, zoned commercial, the men moved our business in 1996, to a 20,000 square foot facility located in Springfield, Ohio, and began growing the business. As Tim started to venture further down down in to Kentucky, looking for business, he conveyed to both his father and brother that relocating to central Kentucky would allow for shorter lead times, ultimately bettering the business. In January of 1999 all 3 men packed up their wives and children and moved to our current location in the quaint little town of Brodhead, Kentucky, operating out of a 48,000 square foot facility. A lot of things have changed over the years, the company is almost 50 times the size it was when it started and the technology in our facility has grown with the times. Sadly, we lost Tim in October of 2013, however his legacy lives on through Eugene, Steve, and a third generation of the family . The one thing that hasn’t changed, though is our commitment to price, quality, and delivery. We take pride in the fact that every part we ship to you comes with the Taylor Guarantee.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming around 45 middle school students from our local school for a behind-the-scenes tour of our shop this week.

From raw material to finished parts, students got a firsthand look at what modern manufacturing really looks like, along with the technology, precision, and teamwork that drive it every day.

Opportunities like this matter. Exposing the next generation to skilled trades and advanced manufacturing is how we continue to grow our industry and our workforce.

A big thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for spending the day with us, we hope to see some of you back here in the future!

An update on first shift tomorrow, Tuesday 1/27

First shift will begin on time at 6am. A two-hour grace period ending at 8am will be in place if additional time is needed for travel.

If conditions prevent travel, please follow normal call-in procedures.

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to thank our customers, partners, and team for another great year. We’re grateful for the opportunity to pause, spend time with family, and reflect on what we’ve accomplished together.
