Our crew recently completed a major feed mill project in Southern Virginia that had been in the works for quite some time.

The project included installing repurposed bins, a weigh lorry system, extending existing elevator legs from 40’ to 90’, fabricating new leg casings in-house, installing K valves, and adding a dual swing set turnhead to the loadout system.

The finished system allows both elevator legs to feed simultaneously while directing material to eight different bins as needed.

Despite challenging wind conditions, our team stayed focused and got the job done safely and efficiently.

We’re proud of the craftsmanship, determination, and teamwork that went into bringing this project to life.

This custom auger tube is currently being fabricated in our shop for Rockingham Mill in Dayton, VA.

Shoutout to John Garber and Taylor Showalter for their work on this build. It’s always rewarding to watch raw material come together into a finished product through the skill and dedication of our employees.

Not every job happens at ground level.

This repair had our employees working high back in WV. This turn head was having electrical issues and wouldn’t switch bins like it was supposed to. Since it’s chain-driven on the inside, they had to manually rotate it using a pipe wrench until the issue could be addressed.

Whether it’s a welding repair, mechanical issue, crane work, or emergency service call, our team is ready to go where the job takes us.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Tim Turner.

Tim was much more than our metal salesman for many years—he was a friend. Whether he was stopping by the office to check in, talk sports, or simply catch up, he was always someone we enjoyed seeing.

Tim faced his ALS diagnosis with incredible strength and will be remembered for his kindness, his love for his family, and his passion for baseball and the outdoors.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin, Beau, Bryce, and the entire Turner family.

We will miss seeing you walk through our doors, Tim. Rest easy, friend. ❤️

As temperatures start to rise, grain storage management becomes even more important.

One topic I've been discussing with customers recently is summer grain storage and the importance of keeping grain cool and dry. A few simple steps—such as monitoring grain temperatures, operating aeration fans during cool mornings, and checking grain condition regularly—can go a long way toward protecting grain quality and preserving storage life.

I've seen operations maintain grain quality longer by staying proactive with aeration and monitoring throughout the summer months. Taking the time to manage stored grain now can help avoid bigger challenges later.

A big congratulations to Adam Tussing and Nathaniel Smith on graduating from Broadway High School this past Saturday!

We’re proud to have both of these hardworking young men on the Top Bead team. It’s been great watching them learn, grow, and contribute while balancing school and work.

We know graduation is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where life takes them next. Whatever path they choose, we’re confident they’ll do great things.
