This week we are working on a Dodge Ram that is getting a heater core replacement. But first 👆🏼

What is a heater core? 🤔
The heater core is a small radiator located inside your dashboard that uses hot engine coolant to provide warm air inside your vehicle. When it fails, you may notice:
❌ Little or no heat
❌ Coolant leaks inside the cabin
❌ Foggy windows with a sweet smell
❌ Wet carpet on the passenger side

A heater core replacement is one of the more labor-intensive repairs because much of the dashboard must be removed to access it properly. That’s why experience matters!

This is what can happen when a vehicle is driven while overheating.
What started as a cooling issue turned into a major engine problem.
🛑 Coolant and oil mixed into thick sludge inside the reservoir
🛑 Engine overheating beyond safe limits
🛑 Coolant forced out through the cap due to extreme pressure
🛑 Misfires developing once the engine reaches operating temperature
🛑 Possible cracked engine block
