Dock Lift Replacement
This lift had many years of service for this client. Overtime this unit has shown structural wear due to the outside elements. Creating a safety concern for the attendants operating the lift on a daily basis, a replacement unit was recommended. Installation services included off loading the freight carrier at the job-site, mechanical demo of old lift and installation of new lift, and haul-away of old lift. Once again a nice clean finish by our Rice technician.

Dock bumpers provide a stopping point for backing trailers at the loading dock. Over time standard laminated rubber bumpers wear down, thus reducing protection of other equipment at the dock. This client had three sets of bumpers that where worn and needing replacement. They opted for a vertical steel-face bumper!

Recent installation of an air curtain at this clients will-call door opening. An air curtain creates a high volume of air that is directed down and across the opening to help prevent dust, debris, and insects from entering while the door is in the open position. Air curtain controller has three functions; On/Auto/Off. Client opted to have the air curtain interconnected with the door via limit switch mounted near the door track. Any time door is not in closed position, air curtain turns on. Simple! Very clean installation by one of our senior technicians.

This industrial client had the challenge of transferring material from first floor to basement and vice versa, at their R&D facility. Previously the only access was a flight of stairs, which was not conducive for use with a two-wheel dolly. A custom size VRC or Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor was the proposed solution! Platform is hydraulically operated from one position to the other with the push of a button. And interlocking swing gates at both levels control access onto platform. The client enclosed the first floor entry point with conventional hollow metal doors, providing a clean finish when the lift is not in use.

Vacant building turned R&D facility! A general contractor teamed up with Rice Equipment on this design-build renovation, which included improvements to the loading dock area of the building. Dock door was replaced, as well as the addition of a new dock seal, vertical dock bumpers and vehicle restraint system.
