One thing we take seriously in this industry is being a good steward for those that come after us.

The lumber industry needs young people to be excited about the possibilities and products that can be created from one of the greatest renewable resources on earth.

That’s why we are always especially proud when a university chooses Nyle kilns to help teach the next generation.

This brand-new L200Pro Chamber was just installed at the University of New Hampshire, and our kilns can now be found at universities and community colleges all across the country.

Our L-Series kilns are a perfect fit for educational programs because:
✔️ They only require 240V single-phase power
✔️ Dehumidification drying produces some of the highest quality lumber possible
✔️ Our training and technical support are second to none

If your school has a woodworking, forestry, or wood products program, we would love the opportunity to help support it with the right kiln solution.

Thank you to the University of New Hampshire for choosing Nyle!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms and opportunities that we often take for granted each day. While many of us will spend today with family, friends, cookouts, or enjoying a long weekend, it’s important to remember the true meaning behind this holiday.

From all of us at Nyle Dry Kilns, thank you to the fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward every single day.

We will never forget.

This week we had the privilege of attending the North Carolina State University Dry Kiln Short Course where students and sawmill professionals from all over the country came together to learn the fundamentals behind proper lumber drying operations.

At Nyle Dry Kilns, we were proud to have two of our representatives there helping explain the benefits, science, and efficiency behind dehumidification drying systems and modern kiln technology.

One thing we always stress is that successful kiln drying is about a whole lot more than just hanging a drying schedule on the wall and repeating the same process for the next 20 years. Understanding what’s actually happening inside the kiln can dramatically improve lumber quality, reduce degrade, increase efficiency, and save your operation serious money.

Our drying specialist Ian Griffin spends his time traveling across the country visiting sawmills, troubleshooting issues, improving drying schedules, and helping operations better understand the drying process from the inside out.

If your mill is struggling with drying issues, inconsistent results, long drying times, or you simply want to improve efficiency and product quality, reach out to us at [email protected]

A huge thank you to NC State University for continuing to invest in the future of the lumber industry and helping educate the next generation of kiln operators.

Class starts NEXT WEEK and there are still a few spots left available, so if you’ve been thinking about attending the North Carolina State University Dry Kiln Operator’s Short Course, now is the time to sign up.

Nyle Dry Kilns will be sending our Southeastern Regional Sales Manager Jeremy Pitts, and our drying specialist Ian Griffin will also be presenting a class on Wednesday during the course.

If you work in the sawmill industry and want to help develop the next generation of kiln operators, this is one of the best places to start.

Over the years I’ve attended dry kiln short courses at several universities, and the North Carolina State University Dry Kiln Operator’s Short Course has always stood out as one of the most comprehensive and practical programs available.

This course is built around learning by doing, making it perfect for:
• New kiln operators
• Supervisors
• Yard personnel
• Sawmill employees you want to move up into the kiln department

Participants will work through a complete drying cycle during the week, operating a 1,000 board foot steam-heated kiln while learning the fundamentals of how wood behaves and how to prevent common drying defects.

Course Topics Include:
• Effective hardwood drying strategies
• Troubleshooting common drying problems
• Understanding wood properties and moisture movement
• Hands-on kiln operation and process control

Advertising has become incredibly expensive these days, and honestly, we’d rather use our platforms to help promote the people who made Nyle what it is in the first place…OUR CUSTOMERS.

Whether you’re running one of our smallest dehumidification kilns or operating large commercial sawmill drying systems, we want to showcase YOUR business.

We’re asking all current Nyle customers to send us:

• Your company name
• Your address/location
• What type of Nyle kiln you’re using
• The products and services your company offers
• Any photos you’d like us to include

Over the coming months, we’ll be giving our customers FREE shoutouts across all of our social media platforms because without you, Nyle simply wouldn’t exist.

But we’re taking it a step further…

We are also building a permanent customer directory on our website so potential customers can discover your company, learn about your services, and even help businesses network with one another within the industry.

This industry has always been built on relationships, and we’d love to help strengthen those connections.

One of our favorite things to see is the install crews putting the finishing touches on some of the most efficient kilns in the industry.

Here you’re looking at two brand new ALL-electric 60MBF dry kilns in Alabama, designed to match Winston Hardwood, Inc.’s existing Nyle chambers.

These additions will help them continue supplying customers around the world with White Oak, Red Oak, Poplar, Walnut, Cypress, Southern Yellow Pine, and other premium Southern Appalachian species.

Projects like this are a great reminder that you don’t need a boiler or even access to gas or propane to build serious drying capacity.

If you’ve got power, we’ve got a standalone kiln solution for you.

We’re excited to watch Winston Hardwood Inc. continue to grow and expand their reach.

One of our favorite traditions is back!

We had an incredible time once again sponsoring and co-hosting the annual “Deal or No Deal” game at the Appalachian Lumbermen’s Club reception alongside our friend Peter McCarty from TS Manufacturing and our own Jeremy Pitts.

This event is always a highlight for us, and we’re proud to have supported it for the past 5 years. The energy, the crowd, and the unforgettable moments make it something we look forward to every single year.

Here’s a compilation of some of the highs, lows, and big decisions from this year’s game!

If you couldn’t make it this time, we sure hope to see you next year.

Rain or shine, we’re rolling in.

Nyle Dry Kilns is heading to the Appalachian Lumbermen’s Club meeting in beautiful Myrtle Beach, and our own Southeastern Sales Manager, Jeremy Pitts, will be on the ground connecting with the best in the industry.

Forecast says rain… but let’s be honest—that’s just kiln weather. No better time to talk drying efficiency, equipment upgrades, and how to get more out of every charge.

We’re looking forward to shaking hands, talking shop, and swapping ideas with the folks who keep this industry moving forward.

Who else are we going to see there?
