Today, we mourn the passing of Artist Richard Serra, whose transformative work has left an indelible mark on the art world and beyond. His monumental weathered steel sculptures, twisted into evocative shapes and oxidized to a distinctive deep orange, have not only graced museums and public spaces but have reshaped our perceptions of space and form.

Across his six-decade career, Serra's artistic brilliance transcended mere observation, inviting viewers to explore, experience, and feel his creations. His profound understanding of the interplay between art, architecture, and the environment has left an enduring legacy that incorporates his mark on the world of art and architecture.

Serra's embrace of weathered steel, a living material that evolves over time, mirrors the essence of his legacy. Just as this alloy continues to transform, his influence on facade design and the collective imagination will continue indefinitely.

At Dissimilar Metal Design, we recognize the profound impact of his work, which continues to inspire and shape our own endeavors.

As we reflect on his legacy, we are filled with gratitude for the footprint he has left on our minds.

Thank you for the lessons Richard, we are forever inspired.
