The Jester is at Rocket City Dragway this weekend!

Here’s how the weekend is going so far!

Number 2 qualifier after Q1 with a 4.32 @ 141mph. 4.18 #1 car ran a 4.18

Would it be racing without a few problems?!

1st problem of the weekend - the boost was only 38 psi, down from 49-50 the first run so we’ll have to do leakdown to check if the motor is OK.

2nd problem is the transbrake activated for split seconds 3 times during the run. It slowed the car and reset the shift controller making it bleed air off shift tower and put it back in first gear. When all that happened I got out of it and coasted from 2.8 seconds in the run.

Thanks, Jeffrey Walker for sharing a photo of the car and stats!!

Haven't posted anything in a long while so updating everyone following the first race of the year for the Jester Motorsports team. It was a rough off-season and didn't get to work on the car after dropping a valve at last race of 2023 at STATE CAPITOL RACEWAY till 2 weeks before the ADRL Montgomery race. My mom was fighting a bone marrow illness with lots of Dr./Hospital visits and transfusions. She went to be with the Lord March 7th and is missed very much. Cassandra and I made the decision to try and make the race so I dived in with both feet working 18-20 hours a day to get the Jester back in one piece. The first day of ADRL Drag Wars was challenging as we struggled to find the tune-up, and over come the shift controller box failing leaving us with high gear only and tire shake that broke the driveshaft. So much Thanks and Love for our Jester Crew (John Sandridge, Steven David, Jamie Faulk, my son Zach and wonderful wife Cassandra Hurt Felps) that worked tirelessly on the car as my son and I drove back to Louisiana to meet my daughter ( Nikki Lee ) to pickup another driveshaft arriving back at the track 3:37am Saturday morning. All the hard work paid off as the Jester team ran a personal best 3.98 @ 193 mph in 2nd round of competition! Even so the Jester was put out by .08sec margin of victory to the faster 3.81 of T. King. So much thanks also goes out to Darrell Escoyne of Escoyne Fabrication for building a great race car. Thanks goes out to Hank Stubbs'and John Sullivan's teams for helping and rooting the still new and learning Jester Motorsports team on.

Had a good outing this weekend at the State Capital Raceway "Battle on the Bayou" race. We tested on Friday and changed up gearing to better fit the new torque convertor. We qualified #3 in Q2 after blowing the tires off in Q1. Backed "The Jester" down again for Eliminations. Had a by-run in E1 but decided to make a full run to get more data. Dropped the #4 intake valve at 3 sec into run which ended our weekend. Much Thanks and Graditude for the crew and family for which without them we couldn't do what we love.

It's a wrap for The Jester here at XRP Raceway. We broke the transmission with it stuck in high gear so it was a bracket car running 4.02 @ 190 and 4.00 @ 190 lugging down through there in high gear! Thanks to everyone for all the great comments and well wishes. Till the next race, Stay Safe

Big shout-out to John Sullivan, Big John, Will Sullivan, Glenn Miller and everyone in the Sullivan Racing camp! "The Jester" team was short on crew this weekend and they unselfishly helped us out even though they had their hands full working on their car. One of the best parts of Drag Racing - the Racing Family!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of our weekend at XRP Raceway. Good- ran a personal best 4.04 @ 185 mph with The Jester still tuned very soft due to our V300 Racepak recorder not making it back from repair at PDS for the race. Bad- still fighting through new car blues, this trip was the parachutes coming out during the burnout. Will fix this before the next time! Ugly- The heat 🔥,waking up to leg cramps not fun but looking forward to the next race in September.

With all of that said, I’m grateful I get to do something I have been building towards for years.
