Your ToolRoom, LLC We are an Industrial Manufacturing, Design, and Repair (Tool and Die) shop, specializing in the work that other shops fear.

We sell, service, and install unique machining, fabricating, assembly, repair and finishing tools, systems, and equipment. We design, machine, and weld mechanical assemblies and piece parts. We also design and integrate control systems to update and revitalize machine tools. We now offer 3 and 4 axis CNC machining to complement our craftsmanship. We offer low pressure proof testing/settling to 1000 PSI, as well as surface passivation of Stainless Steel.

These are Tube Filling Nozzles for a Packaging customer. They are made of premium stainless steel and destined for use on an 18 head line, meaning that every time the machine cycles, 18 crimped squeeze tubes of your favorite personal care products drop into a box ready to ship to your store. This batch took a month to make plus wait time for a certified vendor to deliver. All welds are blended and the assembly is passivated. Delivered Today!

Finished the "Lone Operator". This includes retail packaging and labeling. This model is designed for hunting.

Performance is superb: using Hornady Black .308 Win, 2700 fps ammo, shot from a R***r American 22"barrel, this suppressor quiets the muzzle blast to 99-102 dB. Video is on YouTube at "The Gun Nut, Artisan Suppressor Review"

The Lone Operator weighs 27 oz., is 9.6 inches long by 1 5/8 inches diameter, and is a user serviceable, stacked baffle, life time purchase.

This is an endcap for a silencer (Yes, I'm an FFL type 7 w/ SOT class 2). I'm showing some of the manufacturing process publicly, this is Low Rate Initial Production (up to 10-55 complete units per month). These end caps are for 5/8-24 threaded and shouldered connection on our "Lone Operator" model, a heavy duty model for Rifles and Revolvers, that is currently available in 22 caliber (.220 thru .22-250 including 5.56mm) 30 caliber (300 Blackout to 300 WM, WSM, RUM including 30-06 Sprg and 7.62mm), and 45 caliber (45 Long C**t, 44 Mag).

There are loud portions that may take you by surprise and loud air compressors (4:15 to the end), so if you don't like shop noise, turn down your volume, thanks! "Giant Robot Slave: CYCLE START"!

This is our newest welding trainee, Stuart, learning that he is a maker. Stuart is learning stick welding, MIG welding, machine tool operations, layout techniques, and expected tolerances. As a personal/education project, he designed and constructed his own "jungle gym" from the shop's drop (unused material from previous jobs). ps: This is his third day of training, that smile says it all!

Six simple machines have aided our ancestors since prehistoric times. These are; the inclined plane, the wedge, lever, wheel and axle, block and tackle, and the screw. Most tools and machines are made from combinations of the "original machines". Guess which of these make up the objects being made. Here's a hint, there's more than one!

These are tube filler nozzles that fill sqeeze-tubes of your favorite products like hand cremes, tooth paste, ointments, and so on.

The two sizes shown are for 1/2" and 5/8" diameter.

Because of the low numbers and infrequent replacement, we manually machine each component, TIG weld, polish, passivate, and assemble each nozzle.

Today, one of my customers asked if we could drill hardened steel. 1940's Deckel FP1 geared milling head vs. Rockwell C56-58 1095 Fully hardened blade. This is usually done when time is the primary issue, here the choice between annealing (8 hours), machining (a few minutes), rehardening (another 8 hours), re-etching the blade (16-24 hours) vs. simply hard drilling (45 minutes round trip to my shop and back home). Happy customer who has a happy customer = repeat business.

This is a Rockwell 25-700 Engine Lathe (new in 1962) with a Kalamazoo 5C collet chuck mounted to our shop-made spindle adapter. Here, I am cutting off and deburring brass pins for a customer.

Set up: notice there are two tools mounted to the tool post (usually a "no-no" in heavier duty settings), one is a "ball drive" hex key (Allen wrench) used to stop the part, the other is an o-ring grooving tool, here used for cut-off to dead length.

Although this is the second oldest machine in the shop, it is still useful for simple projects and prototypes. I've turned taper pipe threaded transducers adapters for extrusion lines, disks, punching tools, and shop tool "bits and bobs". The Lathe is a "Primary Tool", meaning that, in the right hands it can be used to duplicate itself.

We sometimes get referred to for welding jobs, yes we weld. This was "just a little pinhole" in a personal watercraft's exhaust manifold. After weld preparation it was two, then a third one opened up as I welded. Any welder can tell you that welding castings is less than fun, so we tried a new welding technology for this job with fantastic results!

4 axis positioning sample on a vented spacer. Low rate initial production, prototype program. As required rates increase, we will combine operations, motions, etc. to reduce the cost/time to produce the part. This is an aspect of product development.

These parts started off as a 12 # block of aluminum. finished weight prior to adding inserts is 8.4 oz.! 11 1/2 # of chips to the recycler. The floor thickness is less than 1/8", wall thickness are .05 , .06. 08. The tall oval shaped wall is .06" thick x.7" deep. Wish I knew what it is for. I last worked on similar type parts in 1992 in an aircraft and missile plant, which requires certifications.

Parts of this nature are high risk (to the part and tools, and sometimes the maker), because they tend to come loose from the vise. At 6000 rpm it can get exciting!
