PI's growth just won't stop. Senior Industrial Designer, Joon Lee (He/Him), joins our design team. Joon started with us as a contractor and agreed to come on board full-time after working a few months with our team. Joon was born and studied in South Korea. His hometown is Busan which is famous for its harbor, beach, seafood, and baseball team. He graduated from Dongseo University with a BFA of Fine Art concentrated on industrial design. Before he moved to the U.S., he worked with many South Korean IT start-up companies and big tech companies including SAMSUNG and LG Electronics for various electronics developments. He also previously worked for companies here in the States, such as Accenture. Outside of work, Joon loves to open cans for his cat Tobby, and painting Buddhist art.
Joon shared his thoughts on design and why he joined PI, "For me, empathy is the most important value for design. Tapping a deep empathy for the consumer has the power to turn an ordinary object into an extraordinary product. I have been a Buddhist temple apprentice monk, youth soccer player, frozen tuna courier, and even a member of the Korean army. These diverse and occasionally extreme experiences have helped me develop a better understanding of people and empathy with a wide spectrum of end users. I can see all Product Insight designed and engineered objects are creating deep empathy with users through their functions, usability, and aesthetics. I am happy to be part of a great team and continue to create and provide highly empathetic experiences for people."
We are so happy to have you Joon and you have already made a huge impact with your excellent design work!
