A little behind-the-scenes look at an HVAC airflow study we are performing for a manufacturing facility in Tennessee.

Our team is evaluating building pressure relationships and measuring airflow throughout the facility to determine how negative the plant currently is compared to outdoor conditions.

Excessive negative pressure can lead to:
• Drafts and comfort complaints
• Doors becoming difficult to open
• Dust and contaminants being pulled into the building
• Increased humidity and energy costs
• Process and equipment performance issues

Using field measurements and system analysis, we’ll help identify the root cause and develop practical solutions that may include:
• Outside air adjustments
• Exhaust air balancing
• Make-up air strategies
• Equipment and control modifications

Good HVAC design is more than just heating and cooling, it’s about creating a stable, efficient, and healthy building environment. Stay tuned as this project progresses

Not all disconnects are created equal and over time, even the “working” ones can become a problem.

Unit disconnects are critical for safely servicing HVAC equipment, but they often take a beating from weather, corrosion, and repeated use. Loose connections, worn contacts, or outdated components can lead to overheating, nuisance trips, or even safety hazards.

If your equipment is aging or you’re already making upgrades, it may be worth taking a closer look at those disconnects

SKY Engineering was in London, KY evaluating a potential chiller replacement for a local church.

The existing unit has served well over the years, but signs of age and wear are starting to impact efficiency and reliability.

A new system would help improve comfort, reduce energy costs, and provide more dependable operation for services and events.

We’re glad to help this church plan ahead and make the best decision for their facility. Stay tuned for updates as the project moves forward.

Exciting things are taking place in Indianapolis as Charity Church addition and renovation design continues to come together.

The project includes a new welcoming entryway, an expanded lobby designed for gathering and coffee, a dedicated visitor information area, and additional restroom facilities to better serve the growing congregation. The goal is to create a space that enhances connection, comfort, and accessibility for both members and first-time visitors.

SKY Engineering is proud to be working alongside LA+D on the current design, helping bring thoughtful, functional solutions to this evolving space.

Stay tuned as progress continues—we’re looking forward to seeing this vision come to life.

It’s always exciting to see a space take on new life—especially when it blends history with modern performance.

This recent renovation in Evansville, Indiana transformed a former church into a fully functional law office, preserving the character of the original structure while upgrading it to meet today’s standards of comfort and efficiency.

SKY Engineering provided MEP design services for the project, incorporating a high-efficiency VRF system for precise climate control, low-flow plumbing fixtures to reduce water usage, LED lighting for long-term energy savings, and HVLS fans to improve air circulation throughout the space.

The result is a unique workplace that respects the building’s past while delivering a comfortable, efficient environment for its new purpose.

We’re proud to be part of projects that creatively repurpose existing structures and bring lasting value to the communities they serve.

SKY Engineering is proud to have provided the MEP design for this addition, working alongside Hawkins Abney, PLLC to help bring this vision to life.

This 2,500 SF expansion on the north side of the existing facility will provide essential administrative offices, dedicated workspace, a conference room, reception area, and a new secure entrance. Beyond increasing operational capacity, the project introduces a reimagined main entry designed to create a welcoming, modern first impression—one that reflects the positive influence the Boys & Girls Club continues to have on youth and families across the Bowling Green community.

We’re excited to see continued progress on the new 66,000-square-foot Collections Facility. SKY Engineering is proud to be part of the team delivering the mechanical, electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems that will support this space.

Behind every great facility is infrastructure designed for performance, preservation, and longevity. This building is being engineered to protect historic Corvettes, rare artifacts, and ongoing preservation work — all under one roof — while creating a functional environment for behind-the-scenes access and expanded storytelling.

It’s an honor to help design the systems that will support Corvette’s legacy for generations to come.
