The Pennsylvania State Police Troop A – Somerset Barracks responded to Rich’s Electric Supply located at 9132 Somerset Pike, Jenner Township, Somerset County.

The owner of the store related that on 05/28/2026 at approximately 0930 hours, the pictured black male, approximately 6’2” tall, 300 pounds, bald, wearing glasses and a red polo shirt entered his store and used a fraudulent check to purchase approx. $1,800 worth of copper wire.

The suspect then exited the store and left the scene in a black Toyota sedan, driven by a black, female wearing a white surgical mask.

The Somerset Police Department and the Johnstown Police Department are investigating similar cases involving the same suspect.

URGENT: SOMERSET & CAMBRIA AREA BUSINESSES:

There are 2 individuals (one black male about 6’2” & one black female with a medical mask) going around writing bad checks for merchandise, items that we know of include rolls of copper wire. The check is written on Citizens Bank, Mechanicsburg, which does not exist. Somerset Borough Police and PSP are aware. They hit at least 2 businesses in Somerset County and one in Cambria County that we know of today 5/28. These are devastating financial losses for these small businesses. PLEASE BE AWARE!!! And help us catch them! As of right now there are no photos of the suspects. They are driving a four-door black sedan, possibly a Toyota. If you have any information, please contact PSP. Thank you.
