Congratulations to Nyliam Gazze, winner of our 2026 annual intern T-shirt fundraiser!

Each year, CDM Smith interns are challenged to create a T-shirt design that reflects who we are and the work we do. Rooted in our culture of giving back, the winning design benefits a charity chosen by the winning intern.

Nyliam raised more than $7,000 through CDM Smith employee purchases, along with a company match, to support the Friends of Caritas Cuba. The organization provides humanitarian assistance and improves the lives of people facing ongoing challenges in Cuba.

Nyliam, an Architecture Intern in our Maitland, Florida office and a Virginia Tech student, wanted her design to capture CDM Smith's mission through a meaningful concept. “I picked Friends of Caritas Cubana because it has a personal meaning to me. My mom is from Cuba, and my grandma still lives there. The country is currently facing many challenges, so I wanted to have a small impact on improving the lives of the Cuban people,” Nyliam shared.

CDM Constructors Inc.'s (CCI) Intern Summit brought together interns from across the company for a memorable experience filled with networking, professional development and friendly competition.

The summit kicked off with a dinner, followed by a panel shop tour and an address from Frank Terrasi that offered insights into CCI's business, culture and future. Interns then put their technical skills to the test during a hands-on Surge Protection Assembly Competition, gaining firsthand exposure to the equipment and expertise behind critical infrastructure projects.

The learning continued with a Marshmallow Challenge, where teams combined creativity, communication and problem-solving to build the tallest freestanding structure capable of supporting a marshmallow. The event wrapped up with a golf team-building experience and dinner, creating opportunities to strengthen relationships and celebrate a successful summit.

Throughout the week, interns gained a behind-the-scenes look at the innovative infrastructure solutions our teams deliver every day while exploring the meaningful, hands-on work that makes a career in construction and engineering so rewarding.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Intern Summit a success. We're excited to see what these talented future industry leaders accomplish next. 👏
