TC or RTD Heated Hose? Just Count the Pins!

Not sure which temperature-sensing system your heated hose uses? The connector makes it easy to identify:

TC (Thermocouple) = 3-pin connector
RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) = 4-pin connector

Our chart also shows which pins to check with an ohmmeter when troubleshooting the temperature-sensing circuit.

Before testing resistance or continuity, always turn the proportioner OFF and disconnect power. Readings can vary depending on hose length and temperature.

**Hose Heat Problems?**

Use these charts to help locate the problem.

Always remember to change the transformer tap setting whenever you add hose or shorten the heated-hose length. Many heating problems are caused by a bad TSU/FTS or a loose electrical connection.

Check the charts before replacing parts—and always shut off and lock out incoming power before testing.

Choosing the right heated hose matters.

SPF Depot now has hose options organized by **Low Pressure**, **High Pressure**, **Standard**, **BluTek**, and **BluTek Moisture Block** so you can match the hose to the machine and job. We have a huge selection on hoses for contractors and it causes some confusion. Verify what pressure you spray at and select the proper hose - OR CALL SPF DEPOT for some help and advice.

Before ordering, always verify the following:

Pressure rating
Heated or unheated
TC or RTD sensor type
Hose length
Whip hose needs
Scuff guard or insulated wrap options
